    Confession Time

Ever get frustrated at practice and just do something wildly inappropriate?

Last night in gi I was getting frustrated with a brown belt that I couldn't do anything to and did a rolling toe hold form standing in his guard ala Ken Shamrock. In gi, yeah I'm an ass. As soon as I did It I realized what a tool bag I was being. :(

    Your turn.

I did a fake flying armbar(from the knees) on somebody who'd been going to class about two days last week.

He was grabbing the back of my head with his arm extended. I regret nothing!!!

    Yeah I do. Damn.

Toe holds aren't allowed in gi against brown belts are your gym?

Hell, one of our purple belts has been a specialist at that very move since he was a blue.

As for a story... Umm... I was having trouble sweeping a newbie ex-wrestler at Judo during newaza, and I resorted to X-guard and deep half guard to get the top position the rest of the session despite it being material he'll never have to deal with in Judo competition.

I was sparring with this girl who kept on circling the rims of the mat. I kept on going after her, and she kept on running away-without even attempting to punch or kick. This continued for an entire round and a half (which is around three minutes) when I got so fed up that I just stood at the middle of the mat and just starred at her with raised eyebrows. She continued her jogging along the perimeter and didn't show a single sign of wanting to close in. In the third round, I stood in the middle again but, out of pure annoyance, put my two palms together under my head and faked sleeping. This finally got her angry and she came charging at me. I won by 8-1 but felt guilty about being disrespectful after the match.

In IBJJF isn't it in the same category as heel hooks?

            Two questions:

            1. Are you hot?
            2. Is she hot?

This is supposed to be a specific instance not a lifestyle of dickery! :P

Eh, it's a legal move for brown belts to use I think. Not ranks below that.

But who cares about the IBJJF? "Reaping the knee", "Technicas Suburbanos", eh... leglock bigots.

I bombed someone with uchi mata during grip fighting, because they kept insisting on grabbing me from the side and straddling my god damned leg.

And lo, Kano looked down upon the field and saw the multitudes. Amongst them were the disciples of Uesheba who were greatly vexed at his sayings. And Kano spake: "Do not be concerned with the mote in thy neighbor's eye, when verily thou hast a massive stick in thine ass".

No, toe holds are legal for brown and black belts in IBJJF competition. For example: http://bjjtv.blogspot.com/2009/03/blog-post.html

Oh yeah! Thanks for reminding me.

We got a "NO GI GRAPPLUR" in at the BJJ gym a few months ago during a no-gi session. He was neck cranking the shit out of comparative newbies and grinding, crossfacing, etc everything within reach. He looked like a horrible parody of a catch wrestler (we get a lot of catch wrestlers in the gym and they're usually pretty cool) but he was really hurting some of the white belts and blue belts (including a teenager and one of our female members).

I started standing with him for our 5 minutes of fun. Fun times: snapdown to a front guillotine, then various throws to a half boston crab, a stepover toehold + crossface, and the kesa gatame armlock/neck crank combo. As I hoped, he left soon after and didn't come back again. As I feared, I got bitched out by the instructor.
