    Belfast Throwdown: 2008?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12_X13LDu_A

What dates can people make this year? Last time was great, with a decent number of people showing up (though admittedly mainly from Mark's club in Belfast): depends on when Mark can organise it, of course.

Last time Cullion talked about dates, the Oxford TD was supposed to be some time in the new year, so hopefully that one will cover Spring, meaning that for Belfast we should probably aim for Summer. I'd assume it depends on holiday periods at Queens (like last time): checking the site, I see that term dates are as follows:

        Autumn Semester
        Teaching:
        Monday 24 Sept - Friday 14 Dec 2007
        Christmas Vacation: Monday 17 Dec 2007 - Friday 4 January 2008
Assessment Period: Monday 7 January - Tuesday 22 January 2008
Inter Semester Break: Wednesday 23 January - Friday 25 January 2008
Exam Resuts - Deadline Tuesday 5 February 2008

        Spring Semester

Teaching: Monday 28 January- Friday 14 March 2008
Easter Vacation: Monday 17 March - Friday 4 April 2008
        Teaching:
        Monday 7 April - Friday 9 May 2008
Revision Period: Monday 12 May - Wednesday 14 May 2008
        Assessment Period:
        Thursday 15 May - Saturday 31 May 2008
Exam Resuts - Deadline Thursday 19 June 2008

        Semester
        Resits: Monday 12 August - Friday 30 August 2008
Exam Resuts - Deadline Tuesday 3 September 2008

So presumably that means we'd need a date inbetween, so the place is sufficiently empty that Mark can book some time at the sports centre again. If I'm reading the above timetable correctly, that would mean 20th June - 11th August is a good chunk of the year to aim for. But would need to check with Das Moose: what do you reckon?

I should be ready for light training in August, not before. Get a date fixed soon and I'll book my flight immediately.

I should be able to attend this time, as of this moment I'm available 24/7 till I get a job.

Well provisionally I can't see an issue with 20th June - 11th of August.

If the timing works out such that this TD and Lebell's Dutch one are within a couple weeks of each other, I'll try to make it to both of them.

If we're thinking of the same Belfast, then never :)

Far too much of a lazy git. I'm not happy that BUSA's in Sheffield this year, and there's no water between here and there.

If people think Belfast is too far, you also have the option of Oxford, but that one is currently without venue or date. I'm assuming it will be earlier in the year, but not sure what Cullion has planned. Either way, thread for that one is here.

I would strongly recommend Belfast, however: had a great time last year. Ideally, people would make both, time and dates permitting. :icon_bigg

I really, really want to see how Can and Mark have developed in one years time.

I'm quite keen on this as it'll be just after I get back from a couple of months training in Thailand so I might even be able to spar for more than, like, 2 minutes without dieing!

It's a good excuse for a weekend away as much as anything else.
