Belfast is pretty do-able for me, plus I sort of know my way around. (I did a tour 89-91 there and have visited a couple of times since).

I have to let anyone who intends to roll or spar with me that I have HepC. So if no one wants to do it I won't slag them off or anything, it's not funny and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. That said it's not ta high risk unless we both get cut and a couple of spotters should be able to make sure any blood shows we both stop. (you know it's easy for instance to catch a nail on a mat or something and make it bleed).

Just to point out MEGALEF has expressed an interest in coming over all the way from Sveden....

Come on UK bullies, a few of you have sounded interested to me privately, if megalef can make it from sweden you should easily be able to come to belfast.

Yep, sounds good - as long as I get enough advance warning and its on a weekend, should be able to make most dates.

I Dunno, what needs to happen for it to be "official"?

As I'd be wanting to book flights and possibly accommodation (particularly if I can manage to get gf to come along), plus time off work to make a real trip out of it (again, if gf goes along), I'd say about a month or two notice would be good. But no doubt I could get something sorted on less warning too, just be more stressful. :icon_wink

At the moment, we've got the Grimsby one coming up on 27th October, so not sure if it would be better to have Belfast early next year or try and slip it in before October. Is there any particularly good time for you, in terms of having people stay round, getting guys from your club along, doing it during/outside of term-time (depending on if its better to do it in term-time, for going out drinking afterwards etc, or outside of term-time, so its less busy).

I can do nearly every weekend, except wicker man weekend 21/22 Jul and one at the end of August either 18/19 or 25/26, Ryanair or BMid will get me there, If I can't crash at your place you shouldn't be far from Belfast Travelodge which is OK and I don't mind sharing with someone. Early next year is cool too.

Okay well I'd like to have it sooner rather than later; in terms of having people to stay, it would actually be far easier to hold the throwdown before term starts again, simply because my flatmates won't be around and there will be beds going. As well as this the gym will obviously be far easier to get space in due to students not being around.

                      I'm thinking early august?

Early August should be fine for me? I have promised to go to Dublin at some point to meet someone I know from MAP but odds are the dates wont clash - he is on deployment and coming to the UK and Republic on his mid tour leave.
I don't know how long his rouilement is so can't begin to guess when 1/2 way will be.

Hmm. I'm hoping to finally get round to competing on the 5th and I'll be visiting friends in Wales on the 11th, but apart from those two weekends I think I'm free. However, my gf is totally booked up for August, so she definitely wouldn't be able to make it (not that she'd be doing anything martial arts wise, but I like the idea of making a holiday out of it, if I'm being selfish).

So, speaking personally, I'd prefer it either later in the year or better, early next year. But that's just me - depends what other people think, and if other times of the year cause problems for hosting.

Well if you guys are happy enough staying in travelodge or wherever it could be pretty much any time; I would prefer august on the basis that I can let a bunch of you crash at my place and I don't have to worry about going to class or anything; also I have lots of stuff on once term starts, then theres the grimsby throwdown.... how does november sound?

November sounds fine to me (if a little close to the one in October, though I guess we don't have to space them out) - not got anything booked at the mo. But if everyone else is happy with August, no reason not to hold it then.
