If I don't have sufficient training time to get ready for the tournament AND the fighter I want to bring also can't make it due to college and what not, I'll probably still try and make it.

Bump as a reminder. I reminded Southpaw Wed. night and with a txt, hopefully he can make it. Maofas just called me, he's got a seminar in D.C. Sunday and can't make it. I'm still in. Haven't heard from Kishi in awhile. Monkeypoo and his wrestler compatriot are still hopefuls as far as I know.

Yeah, wish I could go to the mini-meet this weekend, but the seminar in D.C. is an Olympic Judo champ who is a master of my particular favorite throw. My Judo coach will disown me if I miss this.

Last I heard from Kishi he was still in for the mini-mega even though he knew he'd be out of training for like 4-5 months by that time. I've been waiting to get a new schedule for my classes to email him. It really sucks, he was a great student but his new schedule and my new schedule don't mesh at all.

BTW, would you guys be interested in a Judo coach coming to give a clinic for the mini-mega or is it already stacked with Sambo Steve showing up? Just curious.

I am all for more Judo; I figure if we have a bunch of instructor's, each can pick one technique. I could coordinate the content ahead of time to make sure of a lack of overlap once a final list of teachers is there. I am sure I can think of something to teach too...

So we had the mini-TD today at your behest and I pretty disappointed you didn't make it, especially since it was planned specifically so you would show. We have a test and a couple of fights coming up, and I cancelled regular class for the TD.

            Not cool man.

Wow, I did not realize that I had that much influence in this being scheduled. I am sincerely sorry for not being there. My family needed me in Apex to help my dad take care of some personal business. He runs a business doing professional awning and sail repair and since he is approaching 60 needed me to rearrange his whole workshop to complete an oversized order.

I just sent Whacker a message stating the same thing before I even read this thread.

I had no idea that you would be canceling your normal class for this and would in no way want to hurt you or your students' training. The only thing I can think to do is apologize and offer my school's mat space sometime soon for another TD. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do.

edit: just wanted to add that after seeing that you canceled 3 classes to accommodate for the td, i feel like a major douche. I'll gladly take a whooping to gain some respect here because I absolutely do not want BS members in the Triangle to think I am a dick-tucking fruitcake.

Thanks for the apologies man; the good news is we have one more scheduled for Feb 26th; it's a mini-mega, so it will be regional, and quite awesome. Hopefully you can make that one.

I regret that I could not make it either. Definitely will be at the mini-mega...

Also...if any of you coming to the mini-mega have kids...let me know as I'll have my boy there.

My knees and hands are so worn out (and Judo again tonight lol), but the Inoue seminar was amazing.

Watching Inoue tool Judo 6th dans even worse than my dojo's best bbs tool me was amazing to watch. You expected him to destroy everyone, yet it was still incredible to watch, because every single thing he did, regardless of who he went against, looked exactly the same as when he was compliantly demonstrating it for us to practice at the beginning of seminar.

I was hesitant to go because (besides time concerns) I felt like with just 3 years of Judo I have so much stuff wrong that any decent black belt could improve my technique just as much, but I really felt like I learned a lot and that it was just a good experience in general.

Bad news is although my Judo club's head-instructor happily agreed to come to the mini and show some Judo, but I don't think he realized (because I only found out over the long car ride home from DC) that the mini-mega on the 26th (right?) is the same day as a large Judo tournament. He and most of the other coaches will definitely be there. I should go, but it's the mini-mega, so to hell with shiai points.

I hope the mini-TD was fun, I really hope someone kicked Whacker for me.

Nobody kicked me, because I am a ninja and evade all attacks. Or I just don't do striking. One of the two. Although Curtis did come uncomfortably close to wristlocking me at a few points (inside my guard no less, lol) (I made up for it by getting him with a sloppy triangle). And I almost ralphed while rolling with Jeremy at the end, because I was a giant retard and 1. forgot Chick-fil-a is closed on Sundays and 2. actually at McDonalds for lunch. Sat in my stomach like a nasty greasy rock all afternoon long and made me feel like crap. Blech.

If it's 2/26/11 anywhere near Chapel Hill, I'd love to go.

It is, and it is in Chapel Hill, at my school.

Cool. Just got my butt handed to me today rolling, so hopefully 2.5-3 months is enough to get my game going.

I plan on going to the mini-mega. I'll see who I can bring from around these parts.

Is there a fee to watch the gong-sau? That may well be the best part of the day!

                                Also, does bjjgame know Brinn?
