    I quit the diet last week. Found out I'm going to be doing some traveling this summer, and realized that there's no way I can follow such a strict diet unless my daily schedule is pretty consistent. Still weigh the same as when I started, but I definitely lost some fat. I know it's kind of anticlimactic, but that's all I've got.

    For the record though, I am noticeably weaker now that I'm eating normally again. I don't have the same kind of spring in my arms when I'm doing push ups. Maybe my body's still working on making the transition back to having carbs every day, but this is the same way I felt before I started the diet. Wish I could figure out exactly what was making that difference.

    Ha I totally missed that this thread had a new post on it. Yeah I went to the Doc (got insurance now, w00t). Turns out there's a stomach virus spreading like wildfire around the area and I was the latest unlucky bastard to catch it. I'm all better now.

    Regarding the diet, I'm probably going to have to transition to something with more carbohydrates in the near future. My workouts for foreseeable future are going to be mostly endurance stuff and while this diet works great when I'm working primarily anaerobic stuff, I've taken a noticeable hit in the endurance department.

    Well in an interesting twist, I've been what I would call "violently ill" for the past few days. For the first 48 hours I threw up everything I tried to eat and after that I just felt like I had been kicked down a flight of stairs. Apparently being ill has made me swell a little as my stomach measurement went up a little even though I really haven't been eating much of anything. Now I get to see if this really set me back or if it's more of a speed bump than anything.

    Have you been keeping any other body-composition-related metrics? Limb circumference, bioimpedance scale measurements, etc.?
    The only things I've been really keeping up with are my weight, waist size and neck size. Not a whole lot but that's how the Navy (and every other branch) calculates bodyfat, so that's all I care about. While not exact, I have noticed my shoulders are bigger and my thighs now have a noticeable amount of definition.

    i did the anabolic diet for about 3.5-4 months or so. it wasn't too bad for me. i didn't experience much of a "crash" during the intro. period, however, there were small ones here and there.
    i almost always ate crappy carbs every weekend (pizza, ice cream, etc.), but kept strict to the diet during the week. (a food log helped here)
    my main foods were chicken and tuna salads, peanuts(different varieties), burgers w/out buns, broccoli and other low-carb veggies, etc. etc. after awhile it wasn't much of a problem staying within the 30 net carbs and still getting about 20g of fiber too. although, as was mentioned earlier, i started noticing i was eating the same ole stuff during the week. :/

    overall, on the diet, i dropped to the weight i wanted and stayed there with ease despite the crappy eating on the weekends. i was training about 2-3 times a week and didn't feel bad at all, though i wasn't lifting at the time either. as soon as the holidays hit though, i dumped the food log and just ate crap. XP gaining 15lbs. ;_;

    i just recently completed the velocity diet and got back to normal again. now i'm thinking of settling on the t-dawg diet, which is basically an "upgraded" version of the anabolic diet.

    I asked about it at the clinic today, and the chick working at the desk said she didn't think there was anything to it - I ask the doctor for certain tests, he fills in a form, sends me down the street a few blocks to a lab, they test me, send the results back to him, and I get them from him. No fees or anything. Then again, I live in Happy Socialism Land.

    Also, I fucking hate needles. Still, though, might be worth a shot.

    I'm working under the assumption that dietary fiber does not count towards carbohydrate totals right now. Anyone think otherwise?

    Well that T-nation thread has some people that did it. I didn't because my insurance at the time sucked and probably wouldn't have covered it.
