    Your baseline...

We have all had down time from working out/training due to injuries/surgeries/illness.

What’s your one measure where you know you’ve regained a level of capability that helps restore your confidence?

Is it a bread and butter lift+load, some athletic or gymnastic feat, PB or some other measure? It may have changed over the decades, I know mine has as I’m less an idiot about pushing my body.

NB - fluff question, blame it on COViD.

Unfortunately for me its more subjective vs objective.
The metric tells me most how far off of baseline I am.
Is post workout, how spent I am the rest of the day.
Then the following days DOMS, and energy production.
So yeah at baseline I can go and do a hard work out and have that not negatively impact the rest of the day and the next few days.

My baseline is 20 pull-ups and the ability to get over a 6 ft (2 meter) privacy fence at a full run.

When I was younger, being able to do these things ensured I could do other things. Things that I don’t care to discuss on a public forum.
Shut the hell up and train.

How fast I can run a mile and a half in. I can cover distances with weight but I’m not fast so if I can get anything beneath 9:30 I’m satisfied.

Nope, I learned at 19 that women in relationships are not worth the drama.
