Hughes' bitching and whining about the matchups is pure comedy, IMO. If I were Matt Serra, I would HAVE to pit Hughes' surviving fighters against each other. It's just good strategy. And, even though Hughes' doesn't agree, its good for Serra's fighters as well. Serra is guaranteed to eliminate either Mac or Farmboy. Farmboy will probably lose, but his raw power and aggressiveness will have a good chance of chipping Mac up, at least a little. You can pair up George against whomever Serra thinks is weakest, and give George what is hopefully an easy path to the semis, and he gets through unscathed.

The only way that doesn't happen is if Serra thinks that his guys can easily beat Farmboy and Mac. Then you go for the double KO, and eliminate all of Hughes' guys from the competition. But I'm hoping Serra isn't that overconfident.

Besides, if it happens, the only person Hughes can blame is himself. If he'd have been a better coach, then this wouldn't have happened.

As for George's attitude, he came to win the show. Not make friends. He's not making it harder on himself, because he genuinely does NOT CARE what the rest of the guys think about him. He thinks he's the best in the house, and so far, he looks it.

I don't understand why George wouldn't wake his team up if they asked him to. I also don't understand why they don't have an alarm clock (does anyone know the logic behind this?). It's not like he can go and train all by his lonesome. He needs partners to train with and the only people available to him are in the house. He can be all about himself in the long run and not be such a tremendous dick in the process.

It's just such a trivial matter that I'm having a hard to figuring it out. It's not as if by not waking up his team they are going to miss out on training. So he's not gaining an advantage there, so what's the point? To be a hard ass?

Because George isn't on anybody's team. He just happens to train with the same coaches.

It's not about gaining an unfair advantage. It's about not carrying other people because he doesn't give a shit about them. And why should he? In the end, he'll be fighting some of them, and he knows it.

Plus, he's serious. Most of these guys aren't. It's gotta piss him off after a while.

Ben Saunder's blog said that after they hashed things out, George started waking them up all the time.

I think the "No Alarm Clocks" rule is just some penile idea in order to start man-drama when one guy who wakes up early can't understand why others can't do the same.

Kinda like the "All You Can Drink Liquor Buffet". I mean, these athletes don't need to get all dehydrated every night. But again, drunken escapades and more Man-Drama!

Or, like how they have "No Books, Radio, Phone-Calls or TV". Bored out of your fucking skulls? Create more MAN-DRAMA! It's not like you can film them watching tv or talking to people. But you can film MAN-DRAMA! They gots it!

            Dana White FTW!

First of all, not thinking to wake some guys up is not equivalent to bitching because some guy didn't wake you up. I didn't see that one, but it doesn't sound like he slipped these guys mickeys and then snuck out of the house to train alone. He just didn't think to wake them up, right? Big fucking deal. If they'd made that kind of stink about such a thing to me, I'd be waking people up at 5:30 every morning. There, now you're awake.

I didn't know Dan Lauzon was actually rejected because he couldn't drink--that makes no sense to me. Having one sober guy in the house of drunks would not necessarily mean less drama. On the other hand, I don't drink, and I would NEVER mention that to Dana White if I were trying to get on his reality show. It's a reality show. It's fluff by design.

I suspect it was a legal matter too: supplying liquor to an underage person can get you in all kinds of hot water these days. And for obvious reasons, Zuffa wouldn't be willing to make the house "dry" to accomodate one fighter.

I am calling Team Hughes vs Team Hughes in the first round, getting rid of that team completely....

yeah, Danzig RNC end of 1st round...or top of the 2nd.

Presidents aren't someone you need to be able to have a beer with...but fight champs, yeah I'd like to think they'd be cool to be around. Serra seems like a cool dude, and though I'm a GSP nutrider from the old school...I'm glad he's on top...he'd make a great coach for anyone...and I think after this show, his school is gonna go to the next level...his cornering is grade A...it's made the difference in this whole thing.

I guess I'm gonna have to do a delicate balancing act on several sets of nuts (sorry for the imagery)

It wasn't that he couldn't drink; it was that they couldn't legally supply the house as a whole with alcohol if one of the guys in it was a minor.

Cool. Ofcourse they didn't show that on camera though. Figures.

#1 funniest moment of the fight: Red grabs WM's arm and starts to go for a really terrible armbar. Matt Hughes quickly stops him with a tone of voice similar to one you might use on a dog that is about to pee on the floor.

The only thing I have a good inkling on is that Dorian is going to Serra since Serra has posted that he's training at his school now. I'd expect they even it out so it's 4 and 4 per team.

I think Mac vs George is going to be put off until the finals or semis.
judging from the end of the episode, I would say that this is a foregone conclusion, and i am quite interesed to see how the teams get broken up.
