BET Jumps on the MMA bandwagon- "Iron Ring"

OK, so Ludacris is supposed to train people in MMA?

Hey, we had the MTV version.

You knew eventually you'd get a "hip-hip" version.

I predict a lot of trash talking, terrible instruction, absymal fighting and above all freak show appeal as Strange Love, and Flavor of Love were for VH1.

so, essentially, they're making a live action tv show out of def jam: fight for new york.

(presumably, they'll have real instructors under the celebrities, and hopefully the circus won't reflect badly on the fighters themselves)

            Snoop?

Wow, they could've at least made an effort. I think at least a handful of hip-hop artists actually train MA.

Hasn't this thing been around for a while. I seem to remember the uproar it caused on Sherdog over a year ago. I think I heard they already did one season.

What the fucking fuck? The older I get, the more I hate BET and almost anything remotely related to mainstream rap.

BET just seems to exploit phony, lowest common denominator African American culture for profit. I'm sure they won't do MMA much better.

Mr. White buying out and controlling the hip-hop Iron Ring cage fighting organization.... yeah, cause that isn't the premise for a blacksploitation film.

I doubt that these celebrity managers will really be innvolved in the training anymore than to say "hey fucker, hit harder!" This feels like the rap version of IFL, only instead of actual fighters running a team you get B and C list celebrities to pit their action figure avatars against one another.

                            Horse shit.

They should make the rappers fight each other.

Luda vs Snoop Dogg slap fight!
