Pretty good first match. Ofcourse he didn't get take down and the questions about his groundgame still remain, but it was good for a first time out. His kicks are quick as hell. I hope he turns out to be good, it will be good for MMA. He brings something different to the game.

I was there and saw it live and I gotta say I was stunned at how fucking fast that guy kicks. Me landed at least two back spinning side kicks and even landed a crescent kick (!) to the face. THe back spinning side kick - right punch to the face was fucking awesome.

I don't even remember that guy getting anything off - he was just totally stymied by Cung Le's speed and agression.

For watching it you wouldn't have know it wasn't a kickboxing match - I was disappointed to not get to see the supplex in action.

I wanna see some of Cung Le's san Shou/san Da throws and takedowns in MMA. I think he's good enough to END fights with his throws and slams like the Tito-Evan Tanner fight or the Hughes-Newtown fight.

          Was some impressive striking.

I was there too. Cung's opponent was a another San Shou guy, Mike Altman, who also had 3 MMA fights before this one. He and Cung have fought before and are good friends. Although he listed BJJ on his resume, he likely choose to strike because he knew he had no chance of taking Cung down and didn't want to get tossed himself.

As I've said before, if- and this is a big 'if'- Cung Le takes his MMA training seriously, I believe we'll see the second coming of Cro-Cop.

Sure, you can argue that Cung Le is not the best striker in the history of the world. But he's certainly one of the best competing in MMA right now, and I'd be surprised if anyone in his weightclass could match him, mutch less beat him, standing up.

Cung Lee will ultimately have the most nut huggers where guys like Sifu Abel can say... "See, Kung Fu Does Work".

                    That was pretty sweet.

Does anyone know if Cung Le is actually a leftie, or does he just prefer a southpaw stance?

                    Just curious.....

Good. Maybe they'll start training like him too.

Wake me up when he fights someone with a winning record that he hasn't already KOed in san shou.

Impressive striking and good kicks. I would like to see how he handles a takedown as well.

I respect the fact that he needs some warm up fights before he fights anyone really talented, but I'm not giving him the "2nd coming of Jesus" title until I see a little more out of him.
