If dude showed him a kick, dude showed him a kick. Silva seems like the type to take in info from every which way and apply it in a way that amuses him.

I don't know what you are all going on about. I learned this kick just by watching one of Seagal's movies.

I could be wrong but wasn't silva's kick just a karate front snap with the ball of the foot?? It's like the first kick you learn in karate.

looked like a tae kwon do front snap kick to me. Did you guys know that Anderson actually started in tae kwon do.. without claiming that tae kwon do made Anderson the fighter he is today ofc..

Isn't this supposed to be a comedy forum? Why some of you are taking it so seriously? I thought about posting it here to read the jokes flow around...there goes my mood.

Does silva really like seagal or is he just using him for the fun of it? And did anyone hear rogans comment on seagal he actually called him a mixed martial artist, I swear I almost shit myself when he said that.

...and, of course, my immediate reaction was thinking about all the aikidokas who would use the falacious argument.
Just like all the karate people with Machida. They've spent years bashing the sport, but will shamelessly use a high-profile MMA fighter to justify their own crappy training.

Yeah. I assume it was a slip-up, although I've seen people who don't any better use the terms martial artist and mixed martial artist interchangeably.

I'd guess he likes the guy. I don't see why he wouldn't.

I guess Silva's next opponent should bring in Lebell.

No, no, not THAT Lebell. Ugh, why would anybody even think of doing that.

And of course, Anderson Silva is so insanely good that if anyone can make Aikido style bullshit work he can. But that kick can be seen in TKD, Karate, and Capo used just that way, not as a push kick, but as a kick to the jaw with the ball of the foot.

It's also important to remember that head-kicks are totally not part of aikido.
