Today I talked with Shirley Evert who is the Court Clerk for the Village of Millbrook court. When asked She informed me that Eugene Simco's court date is on 9-30-2008. She did not want to answer questions concerning what he was charged with.

OK. So that is big news. Simco does, in fact, have a date scheduled in court. This at least confirms that some charges were made, even if they won't confirm what they are.
I guess they changed the date.

Yes, the charges could be for anything. The confirmation part is, there is a definitive court date.

Agreed. Let's not make a mountain out of a mole hill. But, this does at least confirm that Simco is charged with something. What, we don't know yet.

I wasn't saying I don't believe you or that you shouldn't go. I suggested a moderator be the one to verify your identity because I didn't want you to post it here either, or to feel like you had to if you didn't want to. I'm TOTALLY not calling you a liar, just voicing a possibility that I'd like to have covered.

Like I said, I wasn't making an accusation. I definitely think the fact that bhbjj is going will make other posters feel like it's not as important for them to go, and that's what I was worried about.

It is feasible that a friend of Simco's would try to convince us we don't need to be there. I'm a few hours away personally, so I wasn't planning on going. Are other posters in fact planning to attend the proceedings?

If bhbjj is the only one who's going, wouldn't it be good for a moderator just to confirm that he's not a Simco student/friend/self?

Is this common to have a small hamlet, with a set court schedule, to reschedule for a week later?

Might this be because his case isn't the garden variety case they are used to and want to ensure ample time....or perhaps ample privacy?

Criminal Court is held at 7:00 pm tonight in Millbrook. I think the phone number is (845) 677-8277. I'll try calling to see if he actually has a court date tonight.

KrottyGuy (which was...who again?) posted about the Millbrook court date on the 30th--I didn't get a screenshot or text. That post has since been deleted.

So the PoJo is following this story in SOME fashion. Whether they're sending a reporter or not, I don't know. Why they're deleting valid leads, I don't know.
