Hey there, how are you doing? It would be helpful if you provided specific reasons why you feel these people are bullshido. Do you have a personal history with them and what is your relationship with them? What specific claims or practices do they make/do that makes you feel they're bs?

In order to call someone "bullshido" you need to articulate why you think they are so. Please tell us why you think that each of the places you link to are being dishonest, or have bad business practices. Otherwise STFU.

Lets have some reasons why you think they are Bullshido. Ranks are probably inflated, but so are countless of other instructors. Does not mean what they teach is useless. Give us some resons.

Tim Hartman is probably the worst one. He created his own organization after the death of Remy Presas and his board promoted him to 7th degree and then 9th degree. If that isn't Bullshido, I don't know what is. His student is the owner of the website Martial Talk which serves as Hartman's propoganda machine. There are already several threads about it on this site and others. One from here, feel free to wade through it yourself.
                http://www.bullshido.net/forums/showthread.php?t=19951

Ernie McPeek starts a new organization every few years. He claims to be a highly decorated VietNam combat veteran but that is another matter entirely. He will give out a black belt in Kenpo Jujitsu to anyone currently holding a black belt in Kenpo http://usaselfdefensecenters.com/kenpojiujitsu.html. If you don't already have a black belt then you can take advantage of his distance learning black belt "Home Study Course" http://usaselfdefensecenters.com/distance.html.

Joe Gutowski is probably the smartest of the bunch in that he doesn't mess around on the internet. He is one of Hartman's henchmen and McPeek's right hand man. He also couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper bag.

Jerry Phelps is pretty much harmless in that he doesn't have any clout in the Buffalo martial arts community like the above mentioned. Nevertheless he once claimed to have been promoted to 2nd degree black belt by Robert MacEwen in Nihon Goshin Aikido so that he too could award rank. MacEwen refuted this claim here http://www.aikido-macewen.com/ourhistory.htm. Phelps has since updated his website and retracted that claim. He solved the ranking issue by creating his own martial art which reeks of Bullshido. He has also been known to enter grappling tournaments in the beginner and white belt divisons.

That's all I have time for right now but will post more later.

Hartman, McPeek, Gutowski all seem to be inter-connected either business-wise or in terms of their certification or lineage. Why not focus on these three as a bundled package for now and leave Mr. "Mission Impossible" Phelps for another thread?

Hartman has also hosted seminars with proven fraud Dr. Maung Gyi.

if Anzalone was sentenced to 15 years in prison in 1991 then he would have been released in 2006. I wonder where he learned BJJ?

Hartman was promoted to 6th dan by Presas in 2000. After Presas death, he (Hartman) formed the World Modern Arnis Alliance and appointed a WMAA Advisory Board comprised of his students. The Board promoted Hartman to 7th and 9th dan, making room at the top for their own promotions by Hartman. One hand washes the other, so to speak.

So basically a guy holding sandan in a hybrid "aiki" based art feels he has the breadth of knowledge to start his own martial arts style ? Ok..

This same guy, undertakes a distance learning programme in BJJ and becomes so bad-ass that he takes on all challengers and never looses a fight ? LOL Ok...
