They have some secret weapon that they can't describe or show pictures of on the web becuase it is their secret 133t weapon.

It apparently has a holow section that they use for carrying stuff... Don't ask me why.

Which is why someone needs to petition Peter Jackson to make a Dune movie (or 6). If it isn't created exactly as the book describes with the exact dialogue, word-for-word, then it sucks.

Slightly back on topic, do these fremen martial LARPers do any crysknife training, or is it just crappy hand-to-pole shit?

If you think that was bad, you'd have hated the version Jodorowsky was going to do in the 60's. Although, Salvador Dali was on board to play Baron Harkonnen, Pink Floyd was going to do the soundtrack, and Moebious did the character/costume designs.

$10 says that I'd easily find a few chicks who don't believe that the U.S. fought in WWI.

Any Dune movie without the line "Shai-Hulud! I have failed you!!!" by definition sucks balls

Lynch's version sucked donkey balls, but it was still better than the piece of shit, made-for-TV version. Muad'dib looked like he could've been Ewan MacGregor's cross-dressing younger brother, in spite of the fact that Herbert made it quite obvious that the Atreides were supposed to be Meditteranean. Shit, they even described Paul having a Roman nose and eating baclava.

Anyone catch Beauty and the Geek UK? The girls were totally US-smart (like who faught the British over the Faulkland Islands) and the guys were hardly geeky.

    Also, "Emperor Relio" that's awesome.
I may never forgive the director of the first movie (was it Chronenberg or Lynch, I can never remember) for taking Muad'dib's assertation that he could kill with the voice - as the Kwisatch Hadach - and turning it into some bizarre Fedaykin weapon... Wasn't a bunch of crazed space arabs on giant worms bad enough?

    Fuck those guys.

Bill Shatner isn't a novelist and Greg Evegen isn't an actor.
