What circut do I fight? Didn't you see my style? Drunken Boxing! I hold a
200-0-2 record in the Halifax bar ciruit. A couple of friends and I get a buzz on and then go pub crawling looking to improve our records. On occasion we even find a few drunk construction workers and can catch them really off guard when they're drunk and at the urinal. This will really improve your MMA record quickly.

No seriously wagamichi, I was making light fun of Shadow Beasts so called MMA record of him and his buddies getting together to spar. Good luck on your legitimate MMA bout though.

I have to agree Jack with the Quebecers that "eye of the tiger" has been around a little too long with FSD, but I must admit that I still have a soft spot for Rocky and that song. I still think someone should walk down the UFC alley to that song; it would be hillarious, yet brave.

I like the fact that they play music during stations with FSD but really need to change their play list. I had a great suggestion once for them but they never cared to listen to me. Somehow they didn't think I was qualified to give them advice on how to improve moral. I ironiclly received the comment that "tradition along with those songs ignite a feeling and help to anchor the no quit attitude in the students."

tradition sucks! Evolve you tail-bearing four-limb walkers! The appendix is a life lesson! Learn it!

BHB, you forget they are supposed to be tigers and hunters crawling around the gym floor.

Crazy Hook: "Sifu, I"m niether - I'm a fire dragon so don't fuck with me!" Oh man, that needs to be in a sig.

Liger, imo mainly for their magical abilities...

              TKD

Dang we did a lot of silly things in TKD but never anything stupid like pretending to be animals!

                heart attack

Yes, the faking a heart attack "technique" is called "startle attack close", and it is testing material for the Green stripe. Pretty stupid for sure! There is lots more weird stuff once you get to brown and black sash. Like "define ego in relation to your personal development". For the black sash, you are actually expected to do local charity work. Yes, that is part of the FSD black sash test! How about a donation for JP's new Harley?

i can't believe the idiot ShadowBeast who has read all this stuff and still wants to try FSD!! Unless he is indeed Brian Paquette. Interesting theory. Look at the Mafia-picture of the FSD-gang on the other thread (FSD history). The Patenaudes are trying hard ot look tough, but Brian looks like a psychopath. Makes sense that he would try to get on here and bait people, but also try to hear what former FSD students think of him.
ShadowBeast, if you are not Brian, listen: the Black Belt Club is nothing but a money-grab. 165 bucks to see techniques that the regulars - who pay only 115 bucks!!! - don't get do see! But it is all BS, because the BBC classes are just regular classes only a bit more intense. You might as well go for a good run. BBC and regular students train together most of the time, but BBCs get an extra hour per week of sticks, sparring and grappling, which goes like this: pair up with a partner, one of you kicks, the other strikes, go!; or: lie down on your back, the other guy sits on top of you, try to get out: that is FSD-grappling!!! At the training camp there was a guy, Doug, a natural-born grappler, nobody had a chance against him with their punches.
Also, they never tell you the full cost of the BBC. Eventually you find out that it is gonna cost you several extra thousands. Plus, you have to take JP's seminar called "Focus on Results", $350m bucks for a Tony Robbins seminar taught by an inarticulate Franco-Ontarian. At the end, you get to break arrows with your throat, and afterwards you find out it's five bucks per arrow you break! The Jehova's Witnesses can't be much worse!
As to the montreal instructors: well, regarding Brian, see above. Martin P. is too close to the master and not much wiser than his dad. At last year's training camp, JP made us stare at a candle, it was supposed to be meditation. After that exercise, Martin shared his experience. He thought he had some kind of Nirwana experience. If he knew what he was talking about, he would know that people like he and his dad don't achieve Nirwana but are born as a lesser life form because of their improper behaviour. Hey, may be they will be reincarnated as dogs!!! And future FSD students will get to sniff their shit.
Actually, thinking back, I am not that sure anymore whether we were really sniffing dog-pooh last summer. It could have come from the master himself. Just wondering. Any FReudians out there who can help me out?

I'm sorry, did you say you had to pay for the (blunt) arrows they get you to break- and they told this afterwards?

So you witnessed/participated in the poopy seminar? Last summer's? Nice. How do you feel about the money spent on the pagoda training now?

Askari, your photo doesn't seem to be there. I know the photo we're talking about, so I just put it up in my gallery, along with the names of everyone in it so you know who's-who. Here's the link:

night classes = about 15-18 people, afternoon classes = about 8-10 people.

Well, in all fairness, most of this thread has concentrated on the Ottawa and gatineau clubs with occasional references to Cornwall, Brockville and Montreal. The Toronto location has been neglected. And as long as shadow beast wants to shout out to his homies, anyone have friends in the MA community in Cornwall? Brockville? Kingston? Vaughn? Montreal? that might know someone who would be interested in this thread? I'm just guessing, but I think there may be a few more stories out there.
