[QUOTE=.Slug- rumors of credit card fraud at FSD? at the club? Yikes. I'm assuming you know some members at my new favorite martial cult- I take it more and more ppl at FSD are becoming aware of this- perhaps I'm assuming too much but it seems to me those kind of rumors would pass between doubting members, and perhaps a few more of them have since Stringfellow's article.
I remember that Sijo was going to make a special visit to each school back in the late 90's and that his holiness sJP was going to fill us with new and profound knowledge. So at the school I was attending we all waited after class for holiness to make his grand entrance, he did but "late as usual", accompanied by Linda and his side kicks. They began to tell us about this wonderful "powerbar" and other fine products that we all had to sign up for which would help sijo rise to the top of this organization. This was the most ridiculous thing I had ever heard a bunch of us just got up and left to their disdain and abuse for several weeks after. The products were from a company or scheme called "Melaleuca".
Rumour has it that he now feeds his dogs the powerbars and one way or the other it will cost his students either by eating shit or sniff it!

STOP THE INSANITY PEOPLE!
I swear everytime I think we've scrapped the bottom of the Fang Shen Do shoe we find more dog shit! How is it that this man can be ankle deep in his own crap and people don't go running from him like immigrant workers fleeing INS!?!
Truly this has to be worth a newspaper story in the Ottawa area?!? Even a university paper would be all over this, 'Martial Cult'.

Regarding the credit-card thing - I can relate something that was told to me by someone who claimed to have witnessed it first-hand.
In the older BBC program it was a one-time fee (originally for a lifetime, but then it was changed to 5 years). It cost about $5000. Knowing that very few people could pay that up front, they would let you make payments on it over the 5 years. The catch was that if you left early you had to pay 10% of the outstanding balance as a penalty. I never saw any such thing in a contract of course (if someone has one, I'd like to see it), but that's what I was told when I signed up (and somehow didn't get a contract).
There was a student in the BBC who left after less than a year, but balked at the idea of paying the fee. Unfortunately, they had her credit card number. I understand that they had tried to run her card through a few times, but that she kept reversing the charges. My source was standing nearby while the owner and one of the instructors (doing the paperwork) were discussing the situation. According to my source, the school owner told the instructor to keep running the card through until the charges finally stick.

CC fraud
Kay........that fucking blows.
I probably shouldn't be surprised, but I am. There really doesn't seem like there is anything these guys running the show won't do in order to take people for every penny. Convincing people to give you money on false premises isn't different from just plain stealing in my eyes- but still, repeatedly running someone's card thru the mill until they slip up one day and don't reverse the charges in time. Dirty boxing, chums, I tells ya it just isn't cricket.
So.....stringfellow you didn't get a contract? Was that a good or bad thing?

By being a bit intimidating, they can often convince someone who wants to leave that they must/should pay the penalty even if there's nothing in writing, and thus exploit the lack of contract to their advantage.

MLM
Here's another one. It didn't stick around long (I remember hearing Linda in an argument/discussion on the phone with someone about it, so maybe they decided to quit early on). They were peddling these "energy skin patches" that were supposed to make you super-human or something. They had the brochure tacked-up in the downtown office with JP & LP's name on it as distributors.
I just remembered the name: LifeWave. Here's their site:
http://www.lifewave.com/USA/ENGLISH/index2.aspx
It seems that there's nothing that they won't buy into.

Originally posted by BoardHitBackHi, Corvus good to have you back. I have a wee question - is this one of those moments that made you step back and say to yourself "hang about......"? I'm not sure if you are out yet or have sufficient distance from them in your own mind to post the incident that made you see the forest and the trees at FSD. If not, please knock about a few tales of FSD wierdness that aren't specific to your presence. Or hell just PM away.
This was one of many.
I'm still in for the time being and would like to keep anonymous until I get my exit strategy sorted out. I have some very personal reasons for doing this as carefully as possible, and for not posting the series of events that finally woke me up just yet. When I'm free and clear, I'll spill all of the details.
I'm reluctant to stir up the hornets nest until absolutely necessary (again, for personal reasons). Keep in mind, I myself, haven't had any bad interactions with either JP or the Sifus, but the horror stories I've read here have me a little on edge.
FSD weirdness no. 17 - Sifu X making students crawl around on the floor on their hands and feet for two minutes saying "some of you are tigers and some of you are hunters" WTF? You know, at the time I guess I was so caught up in it all I didn't realize I should have been saying WTF?

Sijo Jacko and one of his students are in the bathroom using the urinals.
The student look down at Jacko's penis and notices there's a Nicoderm patch on it. The student looks up at Jacko and says, "I believe you're supposed to put that patch on your arm or shoulder, not your penis."
Jacko replies, "It's working just fine. I'm down to two butts a day."
lol......
"He wears his pink pyjamas is the summer when its hot...." come on everybody sing along...
