So has anyone been to one of the international seminars or workshops, or heard or seen that one was coming to town?
Anyone know someone who could provide evidence of these events happening?
I'd been interested to talk to someone who went to (or of course, demanded) a JP seminar outside of Canada and find out whether they think they got their moneys worth.

I do remember being at a BBC class and JP was up front spewing words of wisdom and I thought to myself, "what the f--k is he talking about" and whether or not anybody else was thinking the same thing. Guess what? They were!

Teehee! I love the real EXFSD members- the level of respect they show the mighty SIJO, warrior-poet extraordaire is exactly the level of respect he deserves! I guess you can't scorn him quite so much as someone who's sat down and listened to phreaky phaker patenaude enlighten people.
But seriously, red-dragon, when you trained at (pause to drawn in air) FSDWCDMWC&C2000KungFU, do you know if JP ever left the country on business or on holiday? Its just you can't be holding international seminars if you stay within your national borders LOL

Ugh, ok sorry for exploding..
But wait a minute, am i reading wrong?
How come it sounds like you guys think i love fsd or something? like i already take the class?
ill try to say it better this time.
I found fsd on 411.ca, i thought it looked awesome, so i called and made an appointment to go try it, but only after i called i found this forum, i read all the stuff you guys said about fsd, all the threads i can find, i then decided to stick with the wing chun school.
but when i got home today i noticed that the sifu brain called 3 times, and sounded very mad that i didnt go, i didnt go because i hate the fact that i have to give him my bank acct number for a direct withdrawl type payment, i had to many problems with that in the past, and im not gonna ruin my wifes bank account this time.
so forget about fang shen do, i know everything about them now from what i read on here, and what other people told me, i found a good kung fu school(wing chun/white crane) and i am sticking to it.
edit: what hidden agenda? i was expecting this? o.O
guys, i just ask alot of questions before joining a martial art, thats all.
with the 3 phone calls thing i just wanted to know if thats normal, how he kept calling and sounded mad.Last edited by shadow beast; 3/30/2006 6:28pm, .

Originally posted by shadow beastNo i didnt have an agenda, i was looking for someone to talk to on msn, or just on the forums, that took fsd in montreal, to ask them whats the sifu like, friendly place, ect, thats what i wanted to ask, and also i wanted to ask if you need a credit card or blank cheque, cause he wouldnt tell me on the phone at first, only later on he told me.
stop putting words in my mouth,
Lets assume you just wanted advice from people who've taken FSD.....there's plenty of people on this thread talking about what it is like, what the SIJO fuckwit is like, how cultlike and unfriendly it is and as importantly how suspect its business dealings have been. Just read the thread from start to finish. Now if that's all.......

Can't we all just get along?
</whine>
Seriously, I think we're making a mountain out of a mole-hill here. Considering that we have FSD people here posing as ex-students and whatnot, I understand how anyone new is treated with some suspicion. If shadow beast really was a shill for FSD, I don't think that he'd announce that he'd decided to go with white crane. Jumping all over him isn't going to do anything but alienate him. Though it's too bad he didn't try an intro class at least - we could have gotten another perspective on how it was.
As for the three calls thing - yeah, they can be pretty persistent when it comes to a prospective new student. Consider that normal for them. You might even get a few more (unless he's read this thread and figured it out).

ShadowBeast. The sifus have read this thread in the past, so maybe they were really overzealous to meet, and mold, someone who posted here.
Or perhaps he just called you three times because that is the way they roll.
Good luck at the Wing Chun school. But I must agree with Stringfellow; I wish you would have taken the intro class and posted about it.
Maybe I should go back! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..............ha

Originally posted by red-dragonBoardHitBack, JP only left the country to go to Ohio, I believe, to be inducted into some martial arts Hall of Fame, other than that there were no other trips to conduct international seminars..........Oh except one," the dog poop sniffing seminar" he's conducts in Casselman. It's coming up again this summer... Hey where did my dog go??
Thanks my man.
Your experience bears out what I thought......not much demand for JP that isn't being generated inside canada. More shit from the shyster.
Now about the infamous dog poop seminar.....I want to go!

Red Dragon; if you want to know about the Hall of Fame that JP purchased his recognition from. Here it is:
World Martial Arts Hall of Fame
It is the one that held its symposium in Akron Ohio the year JP received his award.

I understand stringfellow that people would think i am a "spy" lol
i just realized what everyone meant before about that.
tomorrow, i am actually trying both, wing chun(again) and white crane, to see which is better(the same school, same sifu)
and yeah, i read every page on this thread, and on the article thread.
guys i have to admit, maybe i sound stupid, but kung fu is an awesome martial art, compared to my past training in japanese jiu jitsu, shotokan karate, and boxing, what i did last night was so different(wing chun)
Right now i am working on getting my flexibility back, cause i lost most of it, cause this is the first martial art i did in a few years.
sorry to kind of hijack, carry on :brushteet
