by the way the cd contains 5 files. 3 of them I can put them on rapidshare since their size is respectly: 70mb 70mb 40mb and the limit is 100mb. however I got 2 other file at 198mb and 212mb... and they are full of fun. sigh. anyone knows a filehost website, other than putfile and rapidshare?

Haru, you are correct, picking on the French Canadian aspect is not fair, and I apologise for stooping that low. There is so much conceptual gold here, and I believe more to come, that to cheapen it with linguistic slurs does not do the subject matter justice. I will endevour to refrain from comments not based on technique, concept or nut-hugging, fair enough?

I never learned a throw at FSD. Not that I can remember anyway. Out of all the takedowns I learned, I still use a modified #5 from time to time. Striker ends up in an arm triangle would be the best way to describe it. Not enough info? BUY THE DVD!! Hahahaha. Kidding.
In my opinion, most of the takedowns seemed to be very escapable. If your opponent didn't pose his punches, (as seen in the video), you were screwed. But hey, maybe I just sucked.

The rest, as you said, practically require cooperation.
The proof isn't hard to get. If any current FSD students are reading, try this. The next time you're sparring (or in attendance while others are sparring) just watch to see how many of the phon saos, takedowns, etc. anyone attempts. You'll notice that while beginners might try the odd one (and get p0wned in the process), the more senior students don't even bother.

Originally posted by Haru_the_largerI appreciate that you addressed that comment. I hope that I have been consistent in my message in this and the other FSD threads. I KNOW there are problems with FSD. I see more and more the extent of these problems in the MA realm. I also know that the value of FSD depends on your expectations. If the expectation is to go out and fight in the UFC, then it is certainly not the place for you. I do know, however, that there are many people who have benefitted from FSD, myself included. Some have moved on from the system. I will eventually move on. I think this and the other FSD threads are very valuable for exposing the flaws in the system. Continued discussion has allowed many things to come to light that were previously hidden. While it may be easy and fun to jump on the French-Canadianisms, it really is nothing more than stooping to the same reactionary and pointless level as sifu no bs and the other FSD people who have jumped on and filled the air with meaningless comments taht do nothing to advance the discussion. I'm sure there will be plenty of others who disagree, but then that is the point of debate and discussion, correct?
I believe that despite the occasional dip into gutter attacks(from both sides), this has been a very informative thread, and it has brought out a lot of little nuggets of information that were not common knowledge, and confirmed many suspicions that were common knowledge. I hope that people will continue to share information on this thread.

Copyright Issues
Since there's some concern about what one can and cannot do with videos, here's some infoirmation on copyrights in Canada:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_de...ling_in_Canada
The US has a concept known as "fair use". Most commonwealth nations have something similar called "fair dealing" (there are significant differences, though). I'm not sure which would apply, since Bullshido is an American site, but many of the posters are Canadian. Again, IANAL, but considering the six criteria laid out in the article, our purposes here seem to meet most if not all of them. And Peter, since what you're posting are essential advertisements that are meant to be seen far and wide, I'm not sure that there would be much recourse for the Patenaudes anyway.
Of course, if you get sued, then I take back everything I said :happy7:

Notice that both of them turn their head's away from the situation? Seems to me that if you're teaching combatives the first thing you teach is how to keep your head faced towards you opponent, not away from it?
