Very nice post, Haru. I really hope the Fang Shen Do organization implements some changes, for those of you that wish to continue training there.

I'm interested in knowing more about the training camp's safety issues, if you wouldn't mind expanding a bit on that.

I think the newbs here are forgetting that this is Bullshido. Being an asshole is part and parcel of the site. You wanna go play nice, go to MAP and talk about this. Does it make me an asshole to tell people that they are stupid for paying hundreds of dollars to train at a McDojo? I think not. Its funny how I heard really bad things about the ethics of these people (FSD) all the way in LA. I ran into some people that trained there in the mid 90's at an Inosanto seminar and heard the same cash grab, cult like stories not unsimilar to what people are posting. They all said you never got a straight answer, You were intimidated if you asked something that may expose them.

The Patenaudes should come down to a Dog Brother gathering, drink some beers and relax.They dont have to be deadlist art on earth, Its okay to mingle with other MAs, thats what makes us grow...Its all good. Being in a vacuum eventually you sophicate yourself.

Slug: Very interesting. As I've said before, I've seen cultlike tendencies, and I think it's telling when the banter among some students back in 2001/2002 would get prefaced with, 'I'm not joining the cult, but...' when we'd get together for lunch on saturdays.

Also agreed on the mixing with other styles/arts, etc., and I expect to see lots of that at Ronin.

Actually Jaric's post was very useful. Several posters were making non-sensical assertions about how Fang Sheng Do might be reformed, and Jaric pointed out the obvious: FSD is a steaming pile of crap with absolutely no redeeming value.

I find it interesting that it took you this long to post something that actually approached an intelligent point, but you are still only proving that you are a blowhard who listens to no one. If I am not mistaken, the point of Bullshido is to expose flawed systems and resources, to bring light to scam artists and to educate the MA public. You've been crowing for days. The result of your ignorance was likely the death of this thread. Instead of encouraging others to come forth to add to the growing body of evidence, you have succeeded in likely scaring away the more timid people who may have been thinking about posting. Instead of doing something positive, instead of encouraging discussion, you have killed it. I am sure you think you have somehow crushed the FSD system under your idiotic heel. Unfortanately it would seem more likely that you are an FSD supporter who came on here to kill the discussion.

But at the same time, the reason why the Bullshido site gets so many hits (and thus ranked so high on Google) is because of its take-no-bullshit stance. Members are loyal to this site because it doesn't cater to the circle-jerk, pat-me-on-the-back martial hobbyist. Otherwise you'd have another one of millions of bland, colorless, IRRELEVANT martial art websites.

Personally, if I were a MA newb with even an iota of intelligence, I probably would have clicked on the site to get a critical view... regardless of its tone.
