Wow! Um, I stopped watching the Matrix video as I wouldn't be able to get that time of my life back. Also I don't think sJP would want me to bill him for my time, as without getting paid there is no way I'm going to watch that crap.
However (oh you knew it was coming!) here are my thoughts on the 'kicking and punching' segment.
1.) If its kicking and punching why did you open with a take down?
2.) The 'control' techniques? I used to teach 12 year olds with a few weeks of training how to kick a cigarette out of someone's mouth for a demo. You telling me you have to be a Seafood in FSDon't to learn half of that control?
3.) HANDS people! You have them for a reason, practice what you'll do in a fight. (Once again FSD students, why do I know I could beat you in a fight? Because I've seen you practice and you won't change in a live situation, trust me!)
4.) High kick?!? Please, mechanically the body can extend the foot to the upper limit of its range (and this doesn't require much flexibility) with a balistic movement. The upper range you ask? Oh its easy, its the tips of your finger when extended over your head. Now, small gains on that height impress me, mind you I've seen a guy nicknamed La Pous (sorry if my french is bad 'The Flea') and he was about 5'6 and I've seen him break boards at 7 feet (well over his reach!). So a lame jump to that height (and I'm not goig to watch the video again to comfirm this) but didn't he miss the pad?
That's it that's all. FSD once again as predicted the tree was shoke and a monkey fell out. Seems to me that the only thing left in the tree are some what retarded monkeys. Man oh man, seriously I'm not even going to pretend when I visit you're club, I'll be the one in a blue Jiu Jitsu Gi and a disjusted look on my face. Oh, and like a 'real fighter' I'll have a shaved head.
TKD
PS - Looks like Seafood's instructor has a video up on YouTube as well! He's not bad.
