"Not really most of the world does Wing Tsun. 0wnage"

Since when? Ive heard tkd.
That was the old most popular MA Osiris, WT is now "the most poplar MA in the world"

If its been around for a while its traditional. If its not new its been around for a while. Some submission fighting is traditional.
Osiris, Submission Fighting IS MMA, if you mean some grappling styles have been around for a while, then OK. "BJJ NO"!?!?!?!?!? WHy because it 0wned in the UFC? It's nearly as old as Judo lol! It's a VERY old MA now, I mean liek 60 years or more!

Who told you this?
This is my opinion - who do you know who knows anything about grappling WHO ISN'T an MAist? I don't know anyone, and anyway ALOT of MAist still don't know any grappling IMO.

"You say, "Nobody is going to pay Kim until there is some guarantee they will get what they paid for." The point is I'M NOT SELLING!" Ashida Kim
LOL, excellent quote Osiris, that just defines everything about the lastests "dealings" with AK.

Asia: Alot of arts have arms bars I know, but IMO these Ninjitsu guys just added them from Judo or whatever. STrikes form the mount? Well come on that's really more of a street fighting thing, not used in MA that much - it was made obvios how effect this was by the advent of these MMA compeitions.

Shamrock the next time around studied BJJ and he still couldn't win... Same outcome =o)
Ken just held onto him, he wasn't confident enough to go for anything really effective IMO.
WAY too catious
Exactly...

Asia, sorry I didn't mean world champion:

Harold Howard. Hometown: Niagra Falls - Canada Styles.....:4 x Canadian Heavyweight
Karate Champion 2 x Canadian Heavyweight Jiu-Jitsu Champion.
However he is
including some well-known Ultimate punchers
like Canadian Karate Champion Harold Howard
a good puncher.

Oh, and something for San Soo to look at:

John Hess, who fought in the UFC, was a San Soo Black Belt (just to let you know)!

Btw - LOL @ AA (about ppl at AKs being kinder) and Asia - SOOOOO true - we need more!

Goddamn people Anthony A is just reminiscing! Man puts AK in his place and one day later it's, "What have you done for me lately?"

>It's like the Ninjitsu guy - arm bars and strikes fromt the mount submissions? He [Jennum] beat the karate/JJJ world champion pretty quickly, after the karate guy TKOed a much smaller wrestler/MT guy (who was 0wning this karate man right before a good right hook sent him, the MT person, to the canvans.)

Your right blade NO other art has arm bars and NO ONE EVER mounted someone and punched them. Oh great sage of MA. SHUT UP!!! BTW the guy was NOT a world KARATE and JJJ champion.

>Shamrock the next time around studied BJJ and he still couldn't win... Same outcome =o)

It was a draw if I remember and Ken didn't fight to when he fought to stalemate. He figured he got reckless the first think he was just going to plow over the guy so the next time he was more catious, WAY too catious.

Danny, fuck off. If your comprehension is so lacking in basic reading skills, you are not worth my time.

Added: This thread is not directly about Royce and his domination at that time, but my own rant 10 years after the fact on how it has affected all fighting styles.

I figured I might as well explain it.

danny, do you read? I am talking about early UFC fights. READ the thread title.
Yes, quite well actually. What's your point. What's the point of this thread. Royce Gracie was a great fighter and he beat most/all of his opponents in the early UFC. Great. There's no point. It's redundant information, as anyone that isn't blind can see it for themselves.

Anyone have any good suggestions for clips? I'm putting one together for my son, he broke his ankle and can't do anything. I bought him the Gracie Jiu Jitsu book by ADCC to read as well.

I'm thinking of getting him started up GJJ instead of football. He's only 8 but he's almost 100lbs. He's gonna make his little dad look, well... Little. =o)
