    Non Believer shown the light

I was at a business associate's house yesterday in San Diego. Actually left this morn. This place was freaking huge. Another story. Some of our mutual friends were there. One who was derisive of BJJ. One of his best burns was, "Why do grown men want to roll around missionary style like that? Seems Homo Erotic to me."

So yesterday, he brought it up, I said you wanna go, he accepted. I decided to start from the knees as we had no mats. Even better, I just hooked his neck and arm and brought him down into my guard. Less way to hurt him that way. I was half sitting int he guard, he decides to go straight and to my right over my shoulder to get out. I open my guard, hook my left foot over him and climb to his back. I had my forearm over his throat and said nicely, "Tap anytime or get choked."

He tapped. It lasted a whole 7 seconds. First time with a non trained individual. Just wanted to share. It was damn easy. =o)

    Can't wait till class tomorrow!

Oh the whole reason for this, was we were supposed to roll with the house owner's BJJ instructor who was from a Machado school. He never showed up, so... Idle hands and all.

    "Training = pain." - I said that.

PizDoff when drunk: "I'm actually MOST pissed that my target for the evening got drink...then I gave her my Bullshido Canada hoodie like a gentleman because she was outside with not much on...did I mention she barfed twice when I got our jackets...steaming barf is kinda fascinating..." - PizDoff.

Nah, just talked to him on the phone. We've been tight a long time, especially for our industry. He did preface the beat down by saying he trained JKD years ago and knew how to grapple.

He's gonna start GJJ now, he says I've inspired him to get back into shape and be able to defend himself. =o)

Do you know how to revive someone who pass out?

I once choked out my friend in judo. My few attempt at choke didn't suceed because I didn't have proper grip, then I got deep grip into his neck, not only that I got my leg around him so I was choking him with my whole body but he still didn't give up. Suddenly my instructor pulled me out. He was choked out. My instructor pushed his knee into his back and my friend came out all right but it was bit scary.

You might get carried away and do really really stupid thing if your opponent show unexpected resistance. Good that your skill level was high enought to hangle him with ease. But you should be careful.

Thanks Vapour for your concern. The situation was well in hand. I was first choked out at 8, since the kid i did it with wouldn't stop after I tapped. We all got a lesson on reviving after that. Really funny though, I never thought hitting someone on the balls of their feet would do anything. But most of all, if your opponent is still breathing, let them come out of it themselves. You really don't want to get hit when they do, because the last thing they remember before going out is being choked.

Yep, chokes to the throat can be nasty. I tend to go for Carotoid chokes myself. No mess, no fuss.

Not nice at all. At least it wasn't done with malice.

Not a choke, but I used to study Aikido with my ex wife. Back when we were on good terms.

She executed nikko nage to the ground and a shoulder lock, she kept twisting while i was tapping, repeatedly. I must tapped 20 times, till it hurt so bad, I yelled out, IT FUCKING HURTS STOP! She had brain fart and was totally concentrating on the movement.

I know how it feels to be totatlly helpless as an Uke. =o[

I had one person put me in a sloppy kimura. I didn't tap untill is started to hurt. He was pissed that it took so long for him to get it right, he kept cranking. Luckily, he was crappy and was in bad position. One punch to the throat and smack to the face later, he let go.
                          Fucker.
And that's when I figured out that tears couldn't make somebody who was dead alive again. There's another thing to learn about tears, they can't make somebody who doesn't love you any more love you again. It's the same with prayers. I wonder how much of their lives people waste crying and praying to God. If you ask me, the devil makes more sense than God does. I can at least see why people would want him around. It's good to have somebody to blame for the bad stuff they do. Maybe God's there because people get scared of all the bad stuff they do. They figure that God and the Devil are always playing this game of tug-of-war game with them. And they never know which side they're gonna wind up on. I guess that tug-of-war idea explains how sometimes, even when people try to do something good, it still turns out bad.
