Hi. You are reading an archive of the legendary Bullshido forums, from 2002-2020. Please visit our NEW and (arguably) improved forums at https://forums.bullshido.net.
(Or don't, this is just an announcement and nobody's holding a gun to your head.)
1) Phil immediately goes for the only real move in his offensive repertoire, the smother.
2) JKD chick is engulfed in hairy, sweaty fat and pulls half guard.
3) JKD chick puts right forearm under Phil's turkey neck and extends left hand in crook of Phils right arm thus creating space. JKD chick can now shoot out her hips. Phil, perplexed by the complexity of JKD chick's movement, starts to widen his eyes in that look we all love so much.
4) JKD chick passes her head under Phil's right arm and hooks her left leg under Phil's left hip thus taking the back. This technique is called 'riding the whale' when it is applied to Phil.
5) Phil, thinking that he can gain advantage by 'fighting unfairly' starts to yell like a little bitch.
6) JKD chick slaps the back of Phil's head.
7) JKD chick puts her arms under Phil's arms and extends them while stretching Phil's legs out with her hooks (feet hooked under thighs).
richarjs, there is no way JKDC could get an RNC on Philly. His neck is too fat!
I'd say Phil would go for a groin strike, and when he finds how easy it is to block (just close your fucking knees), he raises his eyebrow and panics in a comical fasion. Unbeknownst to us all, Phil has trained this move SO MUCH, that with it, he can melt people. Thus so, he melts JKDC.
I agree damn near fully with the article, but my only change is that because it's possible to make someone scream like a little schoolgirl without actually injuring them, bruises and stuff like that are fine, but actual breaks or serious sprains should be allowed to heal properly before getting back to it unless you can "keep off it" while training (I say this in total hypocrisy, because I was rolling and training with a cracked sternum last term, but what the fuck eh? I never said I trained smart.), just saying serious injury isn't necessary. I believe the axiom "Uke should always be [seriously] uncomfortable, but not injured" applies, if you do happen to get injured, well, shit happens, but that isn't the "goal" per se, more of an accident in between the regularly schedule pain.
But hey, maybe I'm just a sissy :gay:
Hey, I DO NOT recommend training to injury. I should NEVER have been rolling with that break. I ignored it, and trained 6 days a week for 6 months till what was a small break became a bad-ass 4 inch long shatter. It's NEVER going to heal right because of my training. I am not that stupid anymore.
God damn, now I know why they say women have a higher pain threshold.
Because they're stupid? Maybe a higher "My insides are either degrading or trying to expel something big" kinda pain, but injury pain? Not so much. This came up in Philosophy of Medicine, some chick in the back said it and the prof more or less laughed at her.
Wasn't saying you recommend injury JKD, just giving my .02 on the subject. Like I said, I was training with a cracked sternum for a good 7 weeks (still waiting for jorai and p-dub to say "oh shut up, you were fine!"). It basically boils down to stopping even though you want to keep training like normal, its not giving into pain or anything.
