Wow, I really expected to get TRASHED for that post. It reads like e-cock-waving to me.
It's not cock-waving because well.. there is no..nevermind.

Although I do draw the line at training when it's actively doing me serious injury. I know how "training too hard" is all subjective, but when your training is actively doing you harm, you've got to stop. Sometimes we all need to go backwards in order to go forwards.

I had a few weeks where I was twisting ankles and pulling shins and ripping my hamstrings (which caused permanent damage) because I kept going back to training in a semi-injured state. It sucked. It was just one injury after another because I wasn't at my best and I was fucking up. Those were minor injuries that could have healed in days had I let them. I can't even begin to imagine what that must be like with a broken rib.

You have both my incredible respect and concern over your state of mental wellbeing.

I think everyone enjoys that Phil got served and respects someone for being able to play through the pain.

Training with something broken is dumb, though. It'll probably do more harm than good to your conditioning if you go in before it heals. So the only reasons to continue training before that is if you have something to prove or your impatient.

It's becuase you really weren't bragging. You weren't saying "I did this, you didn't, I am better than you, eat shit and die.". You just put him in his place.

Kind of like how a military guy tells a guy he had to kill 50 people in WW2 or whatever, not because he wants to brag about it, but because the other guy is a pansie that is complaining that he has the sniffles.

            Yeah that was cool.

The judo instructor at my gym has a patch on her gi:
Skulls, roses, and the words "Bad Ass Bitch". Made me think of your rant.

It really put Phil's lack of cojones in perspective.

I saw that patch and that's when I knew I had to go there.

See that's the thing, I don't think of myself as a bad ass, I think of myself as a creampuff with a high pain threshold and poor social skills.

                  Oh, whatever.

You could own all the bitches at Delta Delta Delta. I'll totally offer my help because sorority girls need their faces bashed in, but I doubt you'd need me.

Don't creampuffs by definition not have a high pain threshold?

its funny, Beka, because "Bad ass Bitch" is exactly, and I mean verbatim, how i have described Lily in the past.

In the words of some SBG guys: "Tough isn't how you act. Tough is how you train."

By that standard, you are tough as all hell. Hearing about your 1 point loss in front of Helio is heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time.

(((Beka, i'm going to get back in the BJJ classes next week. We need to find a nearby bar that has a good IPA and will serve sweaty people.)))

When you two Banshees take on the sorority chicks, make very sure you get video.

BTW: I am a descendant of Buodiccea. So here's to BADAZZ BITCHES everywhere.

                        Someone should tell Phil that.

In a different context maybe. However, given the thread, I thought it was absolutely perfect. Phil is complaining about pain from static drills. Personally speaking, the only pain I've experienced from WC static drills were bruised forearms and shins and sore legs. But, damn, that was nothing. Really nothing.

Your post put his whining into its proper place. Or at least it would have with a more humble person. It should have made phil look back and say, "Yeah, what I dealt with really wasn't all that bad."

Wow, great post jkdchick. I'd never been to ebudo before but followed the link out of curiosity to read your post. Much respect. And I hear you. I get so fed up with peoples whiney accuses, especially from a pathetic slug such as phil. What a puss. Some people just don't get it... and thats okay... as long as they don't go around claiming to be the the deadly with all of the answers. Simply abhorrent.
