    Official UFC rules??

I wanted to know if anyone knew where I could find an offical list of all the UFC rules. I could've sworn, while looking at older posts here, someone posted a list of rules for the ufc that had 30-something rules listed. Anyone know where that post is, or somewhere else that I can find them? Thanks.

OK, nevermind. I looked at the ufc site and found them. I've been there a lot and never saw them before. oh well There's like 21 things you can't do to someone as far as effective things you can do in a real altercation and stuff. Pretty limited, and they call it real. HA!

Y'know, I always thought it would be a REAL ultimate fight if weapons were involved. Give Tank Abbott a barstool, and Ken Shamrock a spiked baseball bat. Give Tito Ortiz a whiffle bat. Cocky little sonofa... okay, fine, we'll put a nail in it for him. Bring Royce Gracie back, whatever the hell happened to him. Give him a nylon rope, since him and the entire Gracie clan seem to not like hurting people.

I also wanna see that ninjutsu guy who got his ass kicked in like twelve seconds come back. Give him all his fancy ninja weapons. Then he'll flip out and kill people and win the tournament and NOT GET HIS ASS BEAT SO BAD.

        Or not.

10th degree. Yeah, I said 10th degree. White belt, o'course. This long and I haven't been promoted once? I must really suck.

They could all totally flip out and start cutting off heads. That'd be sweet!

why not bring back the Colosseum?
First we throw some new age wicca types to some type of hungery animal in the morning, yes its cruelity to animals.
Then we have prisoners sent to death or life fight for their freedom and raise to the ranks. We also can have schools like back in the roman days so normal people can sign up and volunteer to be gladiators.

Also there could be the real money maker throw rocks at the child molester. People purchase throwing objects at which the throw at child molesters tied to poles.
God this is almost patriotic a true testment of capitalism! I have way too much time on my hands, I best start playing video games again.

I've never understood the thing NHB competitions have against biting. Speaking as a godawful striker with zero grappling skills, I have to rely on what I have to win the day. In one sparring session, this meant biting my way out of a choke. And you know what? I put his forearm in my mouth and I bit and raked as hard as I could and this kid, this goddamned scrawny kid with less fighting experience than ME isn't even flinching. Why are the UFC folk so afraid of it?

Captain's Log: Just a little update for all my TRUE and HONEST friends out there:

                1) I am STRAIGHT! I am STRAIGHT! Get it through your thick skulls, numbskulls!

                2) My name is not Ian Brandon Something.

                3) Kacey is coming with me now. I have stolen her from the other Christian Weston Chandler.

wouldn't biting be kinda tough through a mouthpiece.......and if you're not wearing that, then you have more bravery than brains.

although......with all my teeth knocked out, the BJJs I give might feel a little better to the recipient.

Biting - I've heard that, if someone bites you (or a dog), it's better to push INTO the bite, rather than pull away. Pulling away will just rip your skin.

Here are the "fouls". They are under the "Learn UFC" tab.

                          Fouls:
                          Butting with the head.
                          Eye gouging of any kind.
                          Biting.
                          Hair pulling.
                          Fish hooking.
                          Groin attacks of any kind.
Putting a finger into any orifice or into any cut or laceration on an opponent.
                          Small joint manipulation.
Striking to the spine or the back of the head.
Striking downward using the point of the elbow.
Throat strikes of any kind, including, without limitation, grabbing the trachea.
Clawing, pinching or twisting the flesh.
                          Grabbing the clavicle.
Kicking the head of a grounded opponent.
Kneeing the head of a grounded opponent.
                          Stomping a grounded opponent.
Kicking to the kidney with the heel.
Spiking an opponent to the canvas on his head or neck.
Throwing an opponent out of the ring or fenced area.
Holding the shorts or gloves of an opponent.
                          Spitting at an opponent.
Engaging in an unsportsmanlike conduct that causes an injury to an opponent.
Holding the ropes or the fence.
Using abusive language in the ring or fenced area.
Attacking an opponent on or during the break.
Attacking an opponent who is under the care of the referee.
Attacking an opponent after the bell has sounded the end of the period of unarmed combat.
Flagrantly disregarding the instructions of the referee.
Timidity, including, without limitation, avoiding contact with an opponent, intentionally or consistently dropping the mouthpiece or faking an injury.
                          Interference by the corner.
Throwing in the towel during competition.

These are the ones I would (realistically) like to see made legal:
                          Butting with the head.
Kicking the head of a grounded opponent.
Kneeing the head of a grounded opponent.
                          Stomping a grounded opponent.
Striking downward using the point of the elbow.

Come on. These are pretty basic attacks, especially the headbutt. Also, can you imagine how the ground game would change if you could kick, knee, and stomp a grounded opponent?

UFC/Pride is the closest thing I've seen to "real" fighting, but it's still a sport. (Not dissing it. I love the stuff. Just pointing out the difference.)

And to think, the early days of UFC consisted of three rules:

                            No Biting
                            No Eye gouging
                            No Fishhooking

Some of the ones taken out were taken out to make the UFC legitamtely acceptable in many States. I'd like to see some of the moves you mentioned brought back to the UFC.

Lots of the moves taken out didn't "do" much in the early UFCs - they weren't very effective.

Rashomon, you can never predict how "real" fighting is going to be like - in many cases the UFC may be far more brutal, you just don't know. "Real" fighting isn't necessarily hand-to-hand anyway. PrideFC allows stomping and soccer kicking on the ground. It's not "no rules" fighting, obviously.
                            "Training = pain." - I said that.

On "Smashing Machine: Life and Times of Mark Kerr", the HBO special, there was an interesting aside concerning new regulations.

In the beginning, Mark Kerr specialized in getting the takedown, followed by many many knees to the head, headbutting, etc. Eh, but what can you do. Personally, I really like the old UFC/Vale Tudo style matches where practically everything was allowed. But that Mark Kerr...oh man.
