Opinions on these Dojo's. (links included)

Thought I would pester you all for some opinions of these sites available to me. I've have wanted to take classes for the longest time, and I have the chance now, so let me know if any of these places seem worth it.

    Family Martial Arts Center

    The Martial Way Training Center

    Sleeping Lion Martial Arts

I could care less about competitions or the like, I am not very competitive. To be more specific, I am looking for effectiveness and concept if that makes any sense. I just don't want to get a large meal of bullshit from a McDojo...thanks...

    First one is shit.

2nd one only the "ground survival" class is worth taking, but I have doubts about it's quality, too.

3rd one doesn't look too good either.

Don't you do JKD and MT now? Stick with those.

EDIT: You are a Bullshido/McDojo MAGNET. Find whatever school you like the most, and then go to the EXACT OPPOSITE of it. That's your best bet.

3rd one offers BJJ as part of their 'Street Jiu Jitsu' program.

Am I the only one, or do all three websites look like they were designed the same way?

I felt the same way about number one also. And number two seemed a bit blah too. And the third doesn't feel very promising. I am into JDK and MT now, but the problem is, is that anything I have learned in my life that is worthwhile, I have taught myself and it gets a bit difficult. And I like to expand my knowledge as much as possible.

As far as you thinking me a Bullshido/Mcdojo magnet, I'll tell ya that I am all growed up now, and have had to make much more difficult and serious decisions than this, there's no need to get insulting...

If you've never learned JKD or MT from a teacher, then you can't say you do JKD or MT. Go find THOSE kinds of schools. Google it, it will go much faster than just searching random websites. Look for the styles you want to do, don't just pick a school and hope that you like what they do.

I'm not insulting, I was saying that ALL 3 websites were McDojos, and at least 2 were Bullshido. Means you practically attract them.

No, I wasn't attracted to them, they are the only fuckin' schools in this town or within a 30-40 mile radius for that matter...

It's hard to believe you can't find quality MA in Phoenix. That is a pretty big city. If you really can't find a good MA school then just join a boxing gym. There is a major university there too, right? See if it has a judo or jkd club.

First one is an obvious McDojo, but it's run by some old kickboxer who looks capable on paper. If they spar properly and you can dodge the McDojo stuff, this could be worth a try.

The second one is slim on information. Combat hapkido and ground fighting sound like they have some potential.

Neither of the first two schools listed class prices so I'm assuming the usual "sign now, regret later" deal.

The third school is by far the worst of the bunch. Not only is it expensive, but the style is founded by some young beltfactory product, who thinks he's qualified after scratching the surface here and there. Maybe he can teach some basic hapkido and tkd, but they lack quality instruction for the n+1 other things listed under "our styles".

Taking a quick look at their websites I would guess the reason they all look the same is they were all made using the templates or software from http://www.cmasdirect.com/

Go check them out - why rely on crappy websites to make a decision for you?
