Originally posted by SophistHe came back. Months and months without seeing him, and then he turns up at another judo club I've been frequenting lately.
I think, "Heyyyyy! Wing Chun MMA guy! Time for some ne-waza!"
So I grab him, and we roll.
He kicks my ass. Not severely, but consistently. Gets a pin, an (admittedly judo-illegal) guillotine neck crank and position for a triangle choke within two five minute sessions of randori (time ended with the choke yet to start being applied).
I'm a bit miffed.
It turns out that in the interval since I last saw him, he's been training BJJ.
Not funny. Not funny at all.
Haha ha!
That could almost be me. I went on to my friends about Wing Chun when I didn't know any better and believed the hype on the websites. I was actually going start it. Well, I took BJJ (mostly because of Bullshido) instead and I'm loving it.
I did some schoolboy wrestling with my cousin. He's a lot stronger than me even though I've got some weight on him, he mocked me about WC stuff when he pinned me well. We'll see who pins/subs who next time, rah rah rah!

this reminds me of my assistant intsructor. (actually its quite funny because he is a higher rank than i am) in my Tae Kwon Do class.
He is allways offering to teach me grappling and Ninjitsu. He says he is really good in Jiu Jitsu.
I take a BJJ class with a BJJ blackbelt as a teacher.
he says he can teach me stuff beyond the elements of what this guy teaches me.
I later find out that this guy is self taught in "jiu Jitsu" and "ninjitsu"
I only had taken a month of BJJ at the time and i allready knew it was BULLSHIT.
