    Whats with self promoted masters?

Just wanted to hear some opinions on the topic of people who promote themselves to 10th degree or claim to have created a style.

I have been in ma actively training for 15 years and I would never promote myself or claim to be able to knock someone out with my chi, ki, or whatever.

In my style of origin self promotiion and bullshido is everywhere. (So is real training and hard working and honest ma people)

I am glad this site is here someone has to say something.

So lets hear your opinions and post some links to self promoted, fat, wanna-be masters.

seek the truth in the martial arts  :XXpuke:

What's with all the n00bs stating the obvious lately?

    "Kata's are crap" (Strangler?)
    "Street fights are best avoided"
    "Self-proclaimed masters suck"

1# In some arts Kata/Poorse, are very big part of what make that art. They have a good part of the art with in them.

2# That is different when they guy jumps you. You must be ready to kick his sorry ass!!!

3# They should be found for what they really are by the people. When that comes to be they will not be able to stay in business.

Not sure if there is a point or points to be missed?

I think people that promote there selfs are nothing if they can't prove it!

I knew this guy that created his own system and used to tell everyone that he was a 3rd dan in it.I didn't see him for awhile, then he was a 4th dan.
                He's in prison now.
I hereby proclaim myself a bluebelt in my own personal style.

Sure, don't let martial artists promote themselves to bullshit ranks, but when it comes to someone fraudulently promoting *you* through your English classes, it's all fine and peachy, eh? :love3:

Yes, but when we can't understand what you are trying to say, because you don't know how to properly formulate sentences, we assume that you are stupid and therefore ignore you.

Even the members that are from non-English-speaking countries have better English than you.

Of course you can. There's no one stopping you from learning English.

Try paying attention in English class. It helps.
