    A Question of Chi/Ki (Part 2)

For the benifit of Ronin. The last thread went way off topic. :sad1: :argue: So out of courtesy for him please leave accupuncture (or any other off topic out of this). Just the possible Martial Art Apllications of chi/ki.

Pretty much the consensus on any thread has been "NO".

Those that say otherwise have yet to validate their claims.

        The short answer: probably no.

The long answer: probably no, but. . .

the problem with Qi is that, outside of claims of downright quacks and anime/wuxia enthusiasists, any "reputable" (whatever that may mean) application of Qi cannot be distinguished from outstanding applications of biomechanics or physics, or of sheer luck. Sorta like those "miracles" the Catholic Church requires before beautification occurs. If you're a Catholic, it's a "miracle"; if you're not, it was just a luck or a fortuious biological recovery. . .

The idea that chi can be used to fight is a misunderstanding. IF chi exists (and is related to martial arts), it is a product of certain kinds of practice. Every martial application is explainable through physics and/or biomechanics. So if there are people who can fight with Tai Chi, they can fight due to correct training, not mysterious powers.

And people who claim to be able to do "no-touch knockouts" are complete bullshido. They're clearly liars.

Muscle level- force on force, lowest level

bone level- structure, bone structure beats muscle, muscle cannot resist structure, your arm will be ripped off and you can't stop it. Also the bones just go through. Angles, the straight in the round etc, are important

Chi level- merge with the opponents attack, he can't find you, or get away from you

Yi level- instantly on contact the opponent is hurled 15 feet, or you have has structure broken

Quen level- you punch with such a force that you create a point of singularity and suck the universe back into itself.

Spiritual level. Wuji. Your body structure also is so relaxed resting on the ground, standing straight, that it seems to disappear, this is related to bone level too.

My friend told me that if you get your chi up to 30 before you reach the 1:00 mark, you get a bonus level.
[MMA] arguments do not exist, after all, for people to believe in them, rather they serve as a common, agreed-upon excuse. Foolish people who take them in earnest sooner or later discover inconsistencies in them, begin to protest and finish finally and infamously as heretics.
