    lian shi kung fu

I got a book a few months ago called "The Dragon's touch" by Hei Long

    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books

Anyways, I havent read it yet but I read the forward and the guy talks about mcdojo's but when I started thumbing through the pictures, the fighters were all wearing ninja costumes. He claims to practice lian shi kung fu. Does anybody know about this? For some reason I had it in my mind that it had something to do with KFSS, but I am probably wrong. I'm gonna pick it up and read now that it's piqued my interest. It sounds like the book is crap reading the reviews on amazon but the pictures looked pretty good, anatomical diagrams and whatnot. Have any of you heard of this?

BTW it was given to me, I didn't buy it. Along with a tai chi book that I haven't cracked yet either.

His name doesn't really sound familiar to me, I don't think he's KFSS

I heared somewhere that he's the same person as Ashida Kim. Haven't confirmed that though.

Kim's got other identities such as Haha Lung and Chris Hunter, which is his original name.

I have a few books by Hei Long. Most of his stuff is pretty good. Practical, without going overboard. But a lot of it is geared towards beginners. I would say Dragon's Touch is probably his best.

I'm starting to think that it's fabricated. I haven't been able to find any information on this art on the web at all. Hmmmmm...... I wonder if it really is Ashida Kim in those ninja costumes?

The information in the book seems OK, but I wouldn't call it mind-blowing. I'm sure it can be gleaned from many other styles. I'm starting to think that it's bullshido. If this Lian Shi Kung Fu is in fact bullshido, I shall start my own personal jihad on the publishing company.

As far as I could see, Anthony Bosoni is the real name.

I've read this book. It was interesting from a general point of view, in terms of some of the specific techniques etc. However, a lot of them, from memory are tehy type of thing that isn't really very feasible unless you specialise in that sort of thing (and have done for a long time).
I must add though, that I found the costumes off putting.
Some of the text itself was cliche riuddden yet somehow comical.

Personally I own two of his books. Gouzao gongji (attacking nerve centres) and guge gongji (breaking bones). I bought them because I liked the concepts, but there was a lot of filler material there. Maybe the first 30 - 40 pages in Gouzao gongji and the first 60 pages in guge g... would have been enough, after that he uses an entire page (sometimes two) for each technique, filling a whole page with a vary basic drawing of the technique.

I don't know if all of AJB's (?) books are like the two I've read? but at least in these two books there are a few pointers.

First of all he bases everything on WESTERN anatomy not the meridian stuff you usually find in Chinese MA books.

Secondly he does not -- like nearly every other Asian MA book I've read do -- refer much to what would in this case be Chinese culture, not one name for any techique, not a bit of history, no "monkey scratches ass" = "jibberish" translations.

As for the filler material I talked about earlier, if you combined both books and included only the useful illustrations the remaining book would be less than 100 pages! (gouzao g is 168p guge g is 188 p)

For those who have read them, are his other books like this too?
