    Cures for insomnia?

    I have been having trouble sleeping recently and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions that could help me.

    I think that I might have just got used to going to sleep too late, and now that I'm used to that I can't get my body to adjust to going to sleep earlier.

      I don't have trouble sleeping, but I've done research on aromatherapy's effect on insomnia and found that it really does help.

          heh..i have the same problem...my average sleeping time during the week is 3am...sometimes i just knock myself out with a sleep-aid pill. DRINKING HEAVILY SHOULD HELP! lol just kidding...i've been trying to read before i sleep, and that helps occasionally.

            What worked, at least temporarily, for me was keeping myself up for the rest of the day (i.e. going something like 28 hours on sleep from 6) with energy drinks and such. It made it so I could fall asleep at any time I wanted to, but I stayed up until when it was eight hours so before I wanted to wake up. If your insomnia is triggered by a recurring stimulus (like mine), you'll have to work around it (like I can't).

                I have pretty bad insomnia and can go for weeks without a minute of sleep. Firstly dont sit in bed tossing and turning if you cant sleep. Get up, watch tv, read a book or excercise laying there and thinking about it will only make things worse. Secondly drink warm milk or tea bnefore you lay down at night. Another good thing is to train harder, the more tired you are the easier it will be to sleep. Hope this helps, I know how debillitating it can be to go extended periods without rest and it is pure torture.

                  These all sound like good ideas. I"ll try them out.

                  Mercurious, I don't know if I can handle the sleep deprivation route(although I bet it would work).

                            I am serious...I study herbal medicine (not that I want to, I study it because of my health), working on how to deal with digestive problems that prevents tonics from being digested properly
