Artifying a tattoo? (Calling All Artists!)

    We've had many "tattoo" threads...

During one of them, I posted a pic of a sketch I'd done.

    http://members.rogers.com/crimsontiger/ThisIsMyGiNow.jpg

Would any of the resident McArtists mind taking a crack at actually making that...y'know...semi attractive? LOL! Feel free to show any artistic license you wish. Basically, I just want the theme/"flavour" of the pic to come across.

I'm seriously considering this as a tattoo, but don't worry, I'm not planning on running out with the first design and getting it. I'm just curious what people come up with. If anyone else has self-made/specialized pics they'd care to share, I'm interested in those too.

I'm going to assume if you post/send me something, that it's legally allowing me to use it on my body, btw. LOL!
    Regards,
    CrimsonTiger

Ewwwwww!!!! NO TATTOO!!! There is ABSOLUTELY no reason to deface THAT body with a tattoo... now if you were horribally scarred and you wanted to cover it maybe... but damn BOI do not distract from what you so obviously have

Get the drawing, make a print and hang the thing on your wall... you can always take it down if at a later time you decide it's no longer "you" (though I have to admit I do like the 'flavour' of the drawing)

Oh c'mon, man, that's just fucking tacky.

Why don't you put the TapouT logo on your ass while you're at it, or, like one MT guy I know, a fist on your forehead (he paid a lot of money to remove it).

I hate tatoos that scream "LOOK AT ME I'M A BADASS".
You say what about my rice?

Get a tattoo on your back like the JackAss guy. That one was pretty classy.

            Hap,

Actually, the idea isn't about being badass. It's more about where I've come from as a martial artist. My background is generally in Goju Ryu Karate, from a Sensei who was once a very hard and effective teacher. Unfortunately, I've found that I JUST caught the tail end of his "glory years"...and I've been frustrated with the fact that I really haven't fully received what I wanted from the martial arts. It's taken me a while to find new coaches, a new mindset and a new focus.

When I started, "martial artist" brought to mind the idea of screaming asian guys in gis (or silk outfits) with katanas and black belts/sashes. Hell, to me something like "boxing" wasn't a martial art! Boxers were pussies compared to Bruce Lee, right!?!?

I remember once someone told me that "gi" actually meant "tool" in Japanese (which I've never bothered to confirm or refute...I really have no idea), but the idea of my training gear as my "tools" did stick with me.

I now believe in training with intensity. I now believe in training without inhibitive protocols or "culture". I now believe in contact to improve power and skill. I believe that those basic training implements in my drawing allow me to improve myself regardless of where I am.

Hell, the airport security guys sometimes stop me and search my carry-on luggage because it's packed with my gear. I ALWAYS have my stuff with me. Period.

It's simply a part of my life. I'm not slapping the tattoo on my head or ass or cock for sensationalism. It's not going to span my entire back like some big flag of honour. In my mind it'd probably go on the back of one shoulder or on one arm. Perhaps on my chest, but I'd have to love the design enough to not get sick of seeing it. LOL!

I'll be honest, I don't even know if I'd actually get it. But I would like to have some quality options in my head. But your concern and opinion are noted. <img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>

            Shar,

Your opinion is noted as well, although your shameless flattery won't get you anywhere with me, hussy! *GRIN* Besides, one day all this hard work is going to turn to flab and gut...I'm just preparing to cover it up early. <img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>

I am also thinking about getting a rainbow triangle tatoo, what do you think?

I don't need to flatter you to get what I want... now Vin...

Tattoos are tacky, remember all they are is colored, self inflicted scarring... you'll excuse me if that is less than impressive to me. I'm sure you can find something better to cover your body with than tattoos if/when the flab and gut day comes.

What is wrong with self-inflicted scarring?

Crimson: I wasn't accusing you of being a show-off, but a tatoo like that will come across as showing off.

But take what I say with a grain of salt, I am, for some reason, extremely conservative when it comes to things like tatoos, piercings, etc.

I'm going to tatoo my body...
Anyways, I design tatoos for my friends. One of a kind originals, quite lovely actually.
Just get something that you are going to want to have for the rest of your life. And if you are not sure how you are going to feel about it in the future, get it somewhere where you can't see it all the time.

No worries, I know you weren't trying to be offensive or anything. If you were, I wouldn't have bothered actually posting my reasons/reply.

                              Shar,

Some big white guy threatened you!?!? Can I shake his hand?
