I used to find it amusing that there's a Russian martial art with the same name as a derogatory term for black person.

        I'm over it now.

          no, it doesn't.

the nearest equivalent would be "oosi"

Well i can only go by what he told me, and seeing as he is russian i will take his word for it.

besides osu and oosi are pronounced the same unless you over pronounce the last letters.

You know, in the most amazing linguistic coincidence I've ever seen, "seanyseanybean" means "I loves the cock" in my native tongue.

Amazing how the coincidences pile up.

That's why I write "Sombo" instead of "Sambo." They can have "niggardly" when they pry it from my cold, dead hands, though.

How about "There was a "chink" in the armour." Would that be considered politically incorrect?

(I'm not talking about a Chinese knight here, by the way.)

Nor does "slippery slope" refer to a greased up Asian.

I love that Daido Juku has been re-named Kudo. Cu (same pronunciation) means asshole in Portuguese. Way of the asshole.

Tell your friend his Russian sucks, as does his Japanese slang apparently. I was born in the USSR, lived there 10 years, speak fluent Russian, and speak only Russian at home.

Osu is pronounced "Oh-s", "oosi" is pronounced "ooo-sii"
