Another citizen journalist, Wuhan businessman Fan Bing, was arrested yesterday by secret police, after fire brigades hacked through his front door.

      These guys are still missing.

MMA fighter Xu Xiaodong reports on missing human rights lawyer and coronavirus whistleblower Chen Qiushi
Chinese journalist and human rights lawyer Chen Qiushi is believed to have been detained after reporting on the coronavirus.

At least it made MMA news.

Well, this is terrible but it's communist China. Authoritarians are dangerous.

The problem with domestic authoritarians is people don't think it can happen here too until it's on an issue for which they are personally sensitive.

People have a bad tendency to think that the system is self policing without realizing that enforcement relies on human will to prevent abuse.

Some people will gladly sacrifice their personal freedom for incorrect simple reductionist answers to complicated questions.

It's really up to the Chinese people to change their country, otherwise they will continue to have their organs harvested, their protesters raped and thrown off buildings (seriously this happened), and their rights (hahaha yeah they have none) violated. There are over a billion of them, I find it unlikely that a high percentage don't want things to change. They have the power to kick king pooh out.

I can't think of a country that's done this more times in history. The trouble is that the latest "dynasty" has the technology and army to maintain a total lockdown of the populace, something outsiders don't get to see often until a major event occurs (Tiananmen, etc).

It's been more than 14 days since Qianshu's capture quarantine. If he never re-emerges, it'll really destroy China's recent attempts to appear modern.

Nope, the spirit of Mao is very much alive right now.

They usually just traded one tyrant for another. I agree it would definitely be a blood bath if the people revolted, but hell it already is, it's just done out of public view.

The drone fleet thing is a sign of China's future. Creep factor is out of this world.

Had USA not invaded China you'd have won the Korean War, which would have significantly raised your average

Our "average" was only lowered due to draft dodging hippies, if we were smart we would have deported them to an island prison like the Brits did.

                      Trump or Clinton?

There's just been a break in this story. Chen Qiushi has finally been found, is under guard, but is not being prosecuted.

                        Fan Bing is still missing.
