    hitman: blood money

So whos played this? I got this as a present to myself after finishing exams and havent put it down since. that was 4 days ago. I <3 this game, even moreso than the other 3.

the first hitman had a promising start, then you suddenly ended up in a jungle fighting waves of colombians and aztecs, finally fighting a "boss" who had to be killed 9 times because, apparently, thatsthe power you get from cocaine addiction. then you go into an asylum, splatter 10 clones of yourself with a chaingun, and put a cap in one of your paternal fathers asses. storyline was, to be fair, a little weak. Second one was much more involving but the missions were still a bit haphazard and the storyline a bit nonsensical... you try to find father vittorio then after that its almost like he becomes an afterthought. The third one had a great story, great missions (ESPECIALLY the homage to Leon/The professional at the end) but it lacked any real connection between the missions (while this was probably planned, since they are a series of dreams and hallucinations) which was a bit off putting.

The 4th one though, I just cannot find any flaws. the storyline is solid as a rock. explained extensively through some VERY nice CGI, it fleshes out the character of 47 a lot more than the previous ones did, as well as involving the other characters of the story like Diana a lot more. Whoever created these sequences needs an oscar.

The gameplay is a lot more flexible- in previous ones 47 was stiff as a board. now he can climb in and out of windows, clamber up rocks, sidestep on ledges, clamber up poles- not only that but he does everything very fluidly and naturally, unlike some of the rather ugly animations that plagued the first 3 games. Speaking of which, animations for everything in this game are much more polished, from dumping bodies in dumpsters, reloading (the reload animation while you have a hostage is VERY cool) bombs- which make a much bigger appearance than in previous hitman games- and even just firing your gun, all has realistic kickback animations. no more holding 2 desert eagles firing full bore without any recoil.

You can also now bash people with headbutts and fists, push people so they either trip over, fall down some stairs, or plain smash their face into the bathroom sink. you can take people as human shields which will make armed guards hesitant to shoot if they cant get a clear shot (unless you start plugging their buddies, of course- or if the guards are simply badasses)

they brought back certain things from previous games- money, which was in the first game (although fairly meaningless when a desert eagle costs 700 bucks and you are making 40k or more a hit) makes a return. you can use it to buy off witnesses and police, buy intel on the mission which gives you hints, and most importantly to upgrade your arsenal of guns. this is the pokemon part of the game, where you customise your "core" guns and collect other weapons. your core guns are of course the ballers, the WA2000, the M4a1, a SMG, and a combat shotgun. throughout the game you can buy upgrades for these weapons such as scopes, laser sights, extended cartridges, different ammo, and silencers (even for the shotgun- is that possible?) so by the end of the game not only do you have quite a range of lethal weapons they look fucking awesome too, with laser sights and scopes and all kinds of shit hanging off them (such as 2 magazines taped together for quick loading :D)

Theres a bunch of other new shit too but i cant be arsed writing about it because i want to go and defenstrate some more motherfuckers :D suffice to say this is easily game of the year. best single player experience ive had for a long time.

oh ok. i figured it would be possible, just wasnt sure (although, why the fuck would you silence a shotgun?)

freakshow- did you do the "not so secret" secret ending? that level is crazy hard on second highest dofficulty. cant wait to try it on the hardest. I quite like the theme in hitman of the final level being a bloodbath.

          To make it quieter, stupid.

I thought it was a lot easier than the other hitman games. I got SA within 5 or 6 tries of each level, but the casino. Took a little longer.

Five or six tries is more than it took me in number 2 to get SA or whatever that rating was.

How long can I expect this game to last me?

I don't think you've quite understood the game, Ikken.
Haphazard missions in Silent Assassin? The Agency makes you do a bunch of missions before they'll help you find the priest. While they might not seem connected, if you look at it, throughout the missions, you've stolen or otherwise helped aquire all the essential parts for a nuke.

And there's no reason to splatter anything with a chaingun. I can't really think of a single mission in any of the games where you actually need a gun at all.

It's worth renting. It's a great game the levels are breathtaking and it's like playing a movie. The Mardi Gras scene is my personal favorite. The only drawback is the ease. I said I can beat the levels in about 5 or 6 goes on average (but I take my time and am not really aggressive) if all goes well. I play through without changing clothes. The second time I study behavior and investigate poi. The third time a try some strategies out. By the five go round you can get a perfect score. I only needed the intel on the Casino mission, White House mission and the Suburb mission.

It stages look like that, but the characters still look same as any other Hitman for ps2.

Just finished it last week. Awesome game. The stealth/disguise aspect of the game is pretty damn cool, graphics rock, sound is perfect esspecially with surround sound (if a guard is wlking toward you you hear him in the front speakers and if you turn around the sound moves to the back speakers). You get an odd sense of badass accomplishment at the end of a level where you simply go in, kill a guard to get his uniform, kill your marks, and leave with none the wiser.

The whole game/story is put together very good. The ending was pretty cool too. Looking forward to the next one.

In other news, Vin Diesel will play 47 in Hitman: The Movie.

Fuck Vin Diesel. David Bateson, the guy who voices 47, both looks the part and is a far better actor than Diesel, albeit a stage actor.

                        Or Patrick Stewart. lol.

I read somewhere this fan of the game said that they thought Jason Statham should play Agent 47.

David Bateson would be a good choice. I hear good things about him as an actor. Also the appearance of 47 is modelled after him appearance-wise, and he does the voice for the games.

Then why wouldn't they pick him for the movie?
