Here's an example of what people can be doing if they're serious about broadening the community, testing themselves and getting the good word out.

This is an awesome site, nicely setup and easy to use, with great info. This is what I want the Bullshido calender to be like. I will be working with the creator of the site to help with the calender, and you all should get off your butts and starting sending in info.

    Very nice.
You can't make people smarter. You can expose them to information, but your responsibility stops there.

I'm a member. Some thime this year I am going to try to organize and event myself. See how it feels to be a promoter.

You can't practice Judo just to win a Judo Match! You practice so that no matter what happens, you can win using Judo!
The key to fighting two men at once is to be much tougher than both of them.

The site is well put together and easy to use. Though, I was unable to find any of upcoming tournaments in their database, not even a single record. Hopefully it takes off and people start using it.

          It's utterly brand new.

I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out.
            BILL HICKS,

"Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past."
            ---Jean-Paul Sartre

Why don't we just use that site for events?
And that's when I figured out that tears couldn't make somebody who was dead alive again. There's another thing to learn about tears, they can't make somebody who doesn't love you any more love you again. It's the same with prayers. I wonder how much of their lives people waste crying and praying to God. If you ask me, the devil makes more sense than God does. I can at least see why people would want him around. It's good to have somebody to blame for the bad stuff they do. Maybe God's there because people get scared of all the bad stuff they do. They figure that God and the Devil are always playing this game of tug-of-war game with them. And they never know which side they're gonna wind up on. I guess that tug-of-war idea explains how sometimes, even when people try to do something good, it still turns out bad.

Just thought I'd update this thread, if you are interested in using for your own events I just added a new feature called "Site Integration" which allows anyone to list iCompete events on their own webpage.

This means that you could have a listing of events on that is styled to match the look and feel of this site but is being driven by iCompete. If you're interested check out for more details:

Or once logged in you can play around with the integration tool at:

If anything needs to be added to make this more appealing just say so and I can throw it in. Cheers.

I've been strongly considering it some kind of integration/partnership.

By the way, Chick, have him contact me... [email protected]. I'd like to see if it's feasible to work something out for our mutual benefit.

Edit: D'Oh, didn't see your post. Shoot me an email.
