And now the courts are involved, and they are not siding with the union.

Obviously, you have no idea what things cost in NYC.

Alot of the Pinko Commies are also probably New Yorkers, so they're stuck in traffic right now punching the steering wheel.

    Spoiler:
No it doesn't, but I'm just surprised at its lack thereof.

This is just blowing my mind, here are some basic facts about this strike:

Just like the air traffic controllers in the 1980's. You would think there would be a lesson learned here.

The union said the latest MTA offer included annual raises of 3%, 4% and 3.5%; the previous proposal included 3% raises each year. But Toussaint said the union wanted a better offer from the MTA, especially when the agency has a $1bn surplus this year.

So getting a raise is not good enough? Many private companies have had wage freezes for the last few years due to econmic uncertanties.

The MTA wants to raise the age at which new employees become eligible for full pension from 55-62, which the union says is unfair.

Yes it's unfair to expect people to work for a living especially untill the ripe old age of 62, not 55. Fifty freaking five. retired. full pension. very little education and/or skills. You should be lucky to ever retire at all.

Public transportation in large citites is infrastructure. There is not enough space in NY for everyone to take cabs or live close to their jobs. Public transportation is a necessity.

Agreed. They had their place and purpose once, but now they are havens for neo-socialist groupthink. Any system designed to reward longvity over quality is destined for medicrity at best. When the only way advance within your profession is to outlast the person one rung up from you, and any attempt to excel or display of ambition is met with reprisals from those whom are shamed by it, the profession is doomed.

except for the mechanics and some other skilled jobs, it is basically unskilled labor.

Does anyone even support these illegal acts?

All they are doing is hurting poorer people who live in the outer boroughs who must rely on public transportation. Then I hear some guy on the radio crying about his kids? What about the children of the millions of others who are now affected because of you you selfish bastard?

If you don't like your job you aren't bieng forced to work in this industry.

Whiny babies whose union daddy doesn't have mayor Kotch to treat them with kid gloves this time. One of the few things about bloomberg is that he has his own money and doens't need political support.
