    "The Hunted" and Sayoc Kali..

I know this thing came out in 2003 but I just saw it tonight.....by accident no less. That damn flick is awsome. I mean, it's kind of a lame rip off off Rambo but I thought it had startlingly good MA choreagraphy and mostly knifefights too. So I checked the credits and found the choreographer: Thomas Kier http://www.sayoccombatchoreography.com/tombio.html

There was another guy on there as well, Rafael Kayanan, but I didn't find anything relevant for him. So I've got to give credit to Mr. Kier. Best knife fights I think I've ever seen on film

Lots of fun for martial artists. Kind of an average flick that most peopel will probably think is a weak attempt at "The Fugitive III". But anyone over the age of ...I dunno....28 will see it's really Rambo but with Tommy Lee Jones as the Sherrif and Benicio Del Toro as Rambo....and of course Rambo dies. But still, nice knife work.

I'm not a big knife figting guy, but the scenes didn't look that bad. I hated the cheese factor.

The fact that at the end, they both pause to make knifes just ruined the movie for me.

The biggest complaint I have is how LONG the fights lasted.
That much blood lost...only in the movies !

That fucking sucked. I'm neg repping you for liking it. Retard.

Tommy Lee Jones...a tracker...a healer...a friend of animals...a civilian trainer of special forces (with a distinct lack of live training).

          That spiel doesn't sound familiar?

You can talk to Tuhon Raf at the Sayoc forums if you want. He's posted here as Sun_Helmet (Same name on Sayoc forums if I'm not mistaken)

Yes. It sound like Rambo, just like I said in my initial post. I'll resist the temptation to neg rep you back just on principle.

              Ronin,

Thanks for the heads up on the extras. I just checked and was surprised there were any. Most of the DVD's here are....incomplete. (read "illegal black market copies if not simply filmed with a camcorder from the back of the theatre.") The excessice bleeding? What else is new. I though the fight was going to be over when Benicio got his arm slashed on the inside early on but no....he does the manly thing and slaps on a tounequet midfight. That's right up there with seqing up your own wounds with regular needle and thread and no pain killers using Jack Daniels as antiseptic.

You must spread some (negative) Reputation around before giving it to Omar again.

Actually, about 2/3 of the way through, there are all kinds of plot problems. But that's not why the movie is cools. It's not well written or particularly innovative or much of anything else. It's just got cool knife fights. . . the McGuyver quality doesn't bother me at all. Never mind the absurdity of making your own knives on the run. What's more, the guy finds time to dig up some scrap iron, start a fire and FORGE a makeship knife....but Tommy Lee, his teahcer, has to make do with chipping a stone knife caveman style.

and no Keinehar...trying to neg rep me TWICE for liking a movie was going to far. I was ready to blow it off the first time but TWICE? And then telling me about it after you failed on the second neg rep was just plain stupid.

The knife fights were cool. But there were about two or three of them, and the rest of the movie was awful, like a bad TV movie. About 6 minutes of cool fighting doesn't make up for an hour and a half of garbage.

I actually just saw it last night, and the whole movie seemed like a remake of First Blood like everyone else said. I liked the knife fighting, but the hand to hand stuff at the beginning seemed kind of rediculous. Is that Sayoc Kali unarmed fighting, or something else?
