Is the "I make the same jokes as a crotchety 40-year-old" part of your name also silent?

If you like shitty sounding old school east coast beats that make your ears wanna bleed and an annoying voice and flow from the vocalist Wu-Tang, GangStarr, any of the solos from Wu, Rakim, etc.
If you want good sounding classic westcoast shit, get some 2Pac, Dre, Snoop, NWA, Eazy-E, Kurupt, Daz, Dogg Pound, Yukmouth, Xzibit, WC, Ice Cube, Warren G, etc.
If you just want new stuff that just sounds good, G-Unit, any of their solos, Lil Jon, Lil Scrappy, Shyne, Ja Rule (his new song is good), YoungBloodz, Nelly, etc.
Some random ones I don't know where to put are Tech N9ne, DMX, Outkast and Do Or Die.
And the best rappers ever, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony with all their solo CDs.

Wu-tang "Enter the Wu-tang: 36 Chambers" and Gangstarr "Moment of Truth" are must haves. Try to get Blackalicious "Blazing Arrow".
Pete Rock and CL Smooth "Mecca and the Soul Brother"
        Notorious BIG "Ready to Die"
        Soundbombing 2
        Ghostface "Pretty Toney Album"
        Black Star "Black Star"

        these should get you started

we also seem to be descending into the realms of gansta themed rap as well, though i am not the expert.

Also, get the Blade II soundtrack, if only for the Mos Def and Massive Attack track.
I think Canibus takes the cake when it comes to most nonsensical lyrics.. "you can't eat a niggaz ass like me" wtf??

Canibus is one of my top, all time, grand, supreme, favorite rappers to talk shit about. Words cant come close to describe how bad he is.

                Im mean.......DAMN, he REALLY sucks......

Surprised neither has been mentioned yet (unless I just missed it), but personally my two favourite hip-hop artists are A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul. Roots Manuva and The Nextmen are also good, from the 1 album respectively I've heard from them, and if you don't mind people rapping in French, I'd recommend Shurikn. Finally, another interesting take on the genre is the concept album by Dan the Automator, 'Handsome Boy Modelling School' (unless it was a concept group set up by him - I was never sure).

I'd second (third? Fourth?) previous mentions of Jurassic 5, Beastie Boys, Gangstarr and Blackalicious.

Handsome Boy Modelling School was a joint project between The Automator and Prince Paul. The album was called "So... How's your girl?"

Dark Majique: every american hiphop enthusiast I've ever talked to has dissed the shit out of Skinner's work. It's their loss, I guess.

I thought that would be the general feeling, it does capture the british (and swedish?) pub and street culture perfectly, I would hate it aswell if I couldn't relate to it so much.

Ok, so if y'all would be so kind as to click here http://www.the-streets.co.uk/updates...cff/index.html and take the bus to number four (Blinded by the Lights)
Or ride that bus to number seven (fit but you know it)
If your girlfirend has left you, try riding to number ten (dry your eyes)

Let me know why you hate them

Nah, we don't have any pub culture at all. But I'm on Londom quite often to visit my brother (a city boy), and yeah.. London is The Streets to me, haha.
