Terrorists have access to Tor systems too. And they don't give a fuck about shooting down jets full of innocent people flying away from Tehran.
President Trump's approval rating with terrorists is at an all time low.

They may be lashing out randomly.

Just think, Iran attacks the US Embassy in Iraq.

    Where's the pay off?

For the last 8 years Iran was given ransoms and pay offs for acting like jerk offs to US property, territory, and military personnel.

It seems abrupt and insensitive for the US to have changed their response policy regarding Iranian show boating against US assets without a notice to the changes in the terms of service in writing.

It's easy to see why they would be feel upset.

Imagine if Facebook did that, changed its terms of service about not sharing or selling your data or something.

    You'd be upset to.

Especially if you were counting on that pay off for some nice muchentucken with the family.

I swear to God, I thought they were just making up words. Now I know. Muchentucken is a real thing.

Technically it was Iraqis who attacked the embassy. Blame where it's due. We are not as popular in Iraq these days, so that part was inevitable as in Iran 1979.

And the US has never paid a ransom to Iran for hostages. The funds of which you speak were in contest for almost 40 years, and we're finally delivered in cash (because we had sanctioned Iran's banking) to secure limitations on uranium enrichment that would have pushed off a nuclear Iran until at least 2030.

It was the Nuclear Agreement (now defunct) that secured the release of hostages. So that was win-win until Trump blew it in less than 5 years.

41 years of tension just got worse than ever before.

Canada is also saying it was an Iranian missile: https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/cha...rash-1.5420398

The NYT video does seem pretty shot-downy. That's mach2 or so, to my eyes.

Definitely several times faster than the 737 was flying. Rules out drone, small craft, and bird.

I'm a rocket hobbyist, aren't you? Do you hear it? My eyes aren't that great, but to my ears, unmistakable.

Deduction is fun. We have the room, the weapon, we just don't know Professor Plum vs Ms. Scarlett at this point.

We could try inducing the right answer, but without more info it'd just be a guess.

                  Really?

                  More tense?

I suspect, for the Iranian government, and Iranian military, sure.

For the past couple nights they have been wondering which of them might be the next to get so excited about going to Paradise that they just explode or their heads go pop.

Or if this is finally the year, their own people get sick of their shit and toss them.

And, I suspect the people with Iranium outbound flights have been pretty tense for the past day or so.

Well consider that the last few days have seen the greatest direct US/Iranian violence since 1979 if I'm not mistaken.

And now we have proof of a tragedy that somehow came out of nowhere as sure as that 9M330 (assuming of course, that is the solid fuel projectile in the video...it might not be).

And my son's didn't give two shots about Iran before this week. Now at least one is thinking he's gonna get drafted, and my wife is crying.

                    Tense.

Yeah, this is initial climb, under 10k, so plane was probably not doing more than 250kts or so, SOG. I'm assuming the video is authentic, because NYT says it is.

I think we need to wait to hear who was on the plane. Accident seems unlikely, at this point, unless the accident was in targeting the wrong plane.

Well cool, the final question on that, is are they saying that because the Americans are saying that, or because the Americans presented them with evidence.
                        Both are very possible.
Tor only has an 8 mile missile range so it would be odd to park it right there at the Airport.
                        That is also possible.

They can, but some things that still don't quite line up for me.
I am not trying to be obstinate here I am plenty willing to admit I am wrong when I am wrong.
I am certainly more along the spectrum that flight might have been targeted for some reason.
Questions that I would like resolved and will get resolved with more time durning investigation.
If hit by an Anti-Aircraft missile while climbing how was it able to try and turn back towards the airport and crash facing the airport a good distance away from impact.
Why this air craft and not any others in the sky at the time.
Why would an AA missile site be right there and why would operators whom have been watching air craft take off and land over and over again make an error.
What possible benefit does targeting that plane give anyone?
These are all things that need to be answered.
