The NYT video does seem pretty shot-downy. That's mach2 or so, to my eyes.

Canada is also saying it was an Iranian missile: https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/cha...rash-1.5420398

Technically it was Iraqis who attacked the embassy. Blame where it's due. We are not as popular in Iraq these days, so that part was inevitable as in Iran 1979.

And the US has never paid a ransom to Iran for hostages. The funds of which you speak were in contest for almost 40 years, and we're finally delivered in cash (because we had sanctioned Iran's banking) to secure limitations on uranium enrichment that would have pushed off a nuclear Iran until at least 2030.

It was the Nuclear Agreement (now defunct) that secured the release of hostages. So that was win-win until Trump blew it in less than 5 years.

41 years of tension just got worse than ever before.

President Trump's approval rating with terrorists is at an all time low.

They may be lashing out randomly.

Just think, Iran attacks the US Embassy in Iraq.

    Where's the pay off?

For the last 8 years Iran was given ransoms and pay offs for acting like jerk offs to US property, territory, and military personnel.

It seems abrupt and insensitive for the US to have changed their response policy regarding Iranian show boating against US assets without a notice to the changes in the terms of service in writing.

It's easy to see why they would be feel upset.

Imagine if Facebook did that, changed its terms of service about not sharing or selling your data or something.

    You'd be upset to.

Especially if you were counting on that pay off for some nice muchentucken with the family.

That is a claim your going to have to back up. Especially considering geography and weapon ranges. Your not moving a for deep enough into Iran to be that close to Tehran.
You all act like there are not serious limitations to AA

You guys are looking at the death of General Soleimani all wrong.

I view it as a very late term abortion.

    I remain, Pro-Choice.

There is claim a radar lock was detected. But from who and where? One thing is clear from the video...the streak does not come from the direction of the airport, but from the opposite direction. So again, why would an Iranian battery believe this was an incoming threat? They would know from radar it had just left Tehran.

My money is on terrorist missile attacks, timed to correspond with the US/Iranian missile fight.

Even if Iran never talks about it, there's just too many dead. Someone is going to pay for it whether Iran owns up to it publicly or not. I saw a partial list of names and it's all Iranian families and students. Maybe some non-Iranians but, Jesus f'n shit.

That's a fuck ton of tragedy right there.
According to the citizenship numbers only half were Iranian citizens. 147 had some sort of Iranian link. Like I said, 36% were Canadian citizens, only some of whom held dual citizenship. In total there were 30+ non-Iranians on board.

I would not go by surnames, lists, etc. Iranians and non Iranians do marry and share names etc.

Not to mention, a lot of the info coming from the Iranian govt. right now is suspect, especially the bullshit from their civil aviation authority.

    Who here remembers "Baghdad Bob"?

So since there is now evidence that some sort of solid fuel device hit the plane, NOW I'm gonna start building my theory.

The Tor is designed to destroy armored military targets. Rabbi T pointed out the payload purpose. Its a directional charge intended to pierce a target and kill or disable.

So it should, in theory, blow straight through a 737 fuselage like a bullet through aluminum. Which would, in theory, limit explosive damage to the aircraft enough to not cause a hard kill, but still a catastrophic loss of cabin pressure, fire, and ultimately a crash..

Accident? I still don't buy that part.

This is one of my favorite movies and one of my wife's least favorite.

A couple police cars were parked outside my neighbor's house Monday and I was all curious about why.

She turned to me and called me "Burbs Boy".

    She's crafty like that.
