Pompeo on TV claiming that killing Suliemani saved "thousands of American lives" and then declined to say how that is so.

        This is clearly bullshit.

Any attack they could have made with Suliemani they could still make without Suliemani.

Killing OBL the day before the attacks wouldn't have stopped 9/11 from happening because he wasn't flying any of the planes.

The Qod's will just replace him with another mad dog killer.

Unless there's an inside man pulling strings I don't see how this stops anything they were already going to do.

          The "Qod's". Ha ha ha.

          We're well beyond Al-Quds, now.

Yup. This was stupid and unnecessary.

              He might, but you don't.

Gaza is a weak sauce argument designed as little more than virtue signaling.

Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005. Hamas, their freely elected government(at the time, they haven't had elections since in 14 years), promptly demolished the water, electric infrastructure, as well as the economy with the Gush Katif farms(an agricultural project, which at the time was supplying 20% of the worlds salad greens and something like 50% of America's, it was a multi-billion dollar enterprise and where half of Gazans were employed). Hamas then decided to launch rockets daily at Israel to "end the occupaton" even though Gaza was no longer occupied.

The last rocket fired into Israel, at the time of me writing this was just over 9hrs ago, at 2:45am.

Of course they are under military blockade. They commit daily acts of war, which are also war crimes by intentionally firing rockets and mortars into civilian areas. Even most Palestinians agree that Hamas is ultimately responsible for the problems there.

If you had wanted to make a cogent argument you would have discussed the problems of the Palestinians actually living under military occupation in the West Bank. Now while that is far more nuanced than this side is right and that side is wrong, you would have had at least a leg to stand on, without having to prop up a terrorist group that has ties to Daesh, and has openly proclaimed that they were going to establish a caliphate in the US and turn the White House into a mosque.

Except that the US Embassy in Iraq was attacked by uniformed Iranian soldiers. WTF dont people get about over act of war? US reprisal didnt even occur in Iran, it happened in Iraq.

This isnt a bunch of SEALs in what may or may not have been Iranian territorial waters. This is uniformed Iranians attack a US embassy in a third country, then a US strike on said uniformed soldiers that are technically there against international law.

The embassy had been secured for a hot minute before we greased Soleimani.

Your point? Pick up a copy of Jane's and look at the capabilities of a Reaper drone. Technically I think it was somewhere around 36hrs after the embassy attack.

It isnt like the US doesnt have Reapers up in Iraq to prosecute Daesh targets.

Sorry but I dont see the outrage on this one. Guy was a terrorist in a Uniform. He committed an overt act of war against the US by attacking a US embassy in a foreign nation and died in that foreign nation for his efforts.

If President Trump started carpet bombing Tehran over it, there would be what to complain about.

This sets a stupid precedent. Any major U.S government official that visits the region is now a much, much bigger target.

The problem I have is that military actions turn out better with a steady hand. An unstable idiot like Trump is liable to fuck it up.

I'm not nervous because of what the Iranians might do, I'm nervous about what mistakes his administration might make.

Bullfighting looks easy when the pros do it but right now it's amateur hour, and that's the problem as I see it.

Edit: Imagine going to the playoffs and suddenly Trump takes over for the head coach, starts ordering plays for the New England Patriots. Tom Brady is one of the greatest QBs of all time but, Jesus, he's not a psychic Jedi.

That's my issue. The fucker deserved what he got, but this was big big decision to make that seems to have been taken rather lightly.

Like the previous administrations were any better.

                              Relax, Dung.

President Trump is doing fine so far with handling this.

Sometimes it feels like people really wish he would fail, even though he is currently the leader of our team, the United States.

All of the Russian puppet talk was not only low, but also has its own destabilizing effect.

And every one of you fuckers out there doing it are in fact guilty of destabilizing the US for Russia.

Maybe settle down for a while, and let the guy do his job, especially while handling a pre-emptive act of war by a foreign State on a US embassy, while that foreign State has Russian and China along for the ride.

They already were and are always targets in that region...
