Na, I never claimed to be bright. And you're confused about what I mean by socialist. There are many kinds of socialism, and the kind of socialism I'm talking about is tied to modern, left-wing populism. The Left wing populism Donald Trump just rode into office (with the wing beneath his wings provided by plenty of right-wing populists, for sure).

Privatization and liquidation are VERY much part of modern, progressive, left-wing socialism. In fact, they are the very things that modern socialist states like in Europe need to do in order to survive and compete in the global capital market. The more right wing they are, the less they play well with others. The far-right, Monarchical socialism practiced in North Korea, for instance.

So yes, left-wing nationalist socialist populism is a thing and it's Trump's mission or at least what he campaigned on. Go ahead and look it up, you'll find he's more left-wing nationalist socialist populist than he's right-wing socialist populist. You can't ignore the fact that Donald Trump does NOT want to preserve the national, conservative status quo. He just successfully ripped that to sheds along with over a dozen conservative-credentialed politicians.

Instead he wants to reshape the whole country with a radical socialist agenda that attacks the media, elites, global influences all for the benefit of the common American. You don't get much more left wing than that.

Even his hats are RED. LOL

Both you and Trump seem to share some traits. You both seem to claim to be one thing but are clearly something else.

Maybe some morons think Trump/Pence is a common man, liberally mind duo... much like Alex Jones' supporters who think Planned Parenthood is racist and hell bent on exterminating the black race... of course those two lines cross at the Tea Party.

Your socialist bit is fucking retarded seeing as he has openly said he was going to private every bit of the countries infrastructure as he can.

God damn you are a fucking idiot.
You need some of this stuff ASAP...

Are you arguing that Europe has no modern socialist states? They have quite a few, you know, and some actually work out.

I think you need to read more on the subject.

Enterprise reform and privatization in socialist economies
                DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.1596/0-8213-1666-4

This paper reviews attempts of a group of socialist countries to reform their state-owned enterprise (SOE) sectors. It looks briefly at the past performance of SOEs in socialist countries; examines why so many of them are opting for fundamental reform of enterprises including privatization and liquidation; and assesses reform experience to date and future prospects. The analysis is limited to seven socialist countries that are active members of the World Bank group. These seven countries have long tried to improve SOE performance by restructuring -- attempts short of ownership change -- with meager results. The path for, and intensity of, reform varies among the countries reviewed. The common denominator is that these seven governments have recognized the need to go beyond past, partial steps in their attempts to reform SOEs and improve their performance.

Socialism is a range of economic and social systems characterised by social ownership and democratic control of the means of production as well as the political ideologies, theories, and movements that aim to establish them.

                  *edit*
So ... yeah. Socialist countries can privatise .... but it kinda changes what they are at the core, by the definition.

I think you need to shut the fuck up and actually learn the distinction between "socialist" and "social democrat." That would make you a veritable political scholar compared to the usual fuckwittery of your American compatriots.

And this would make them a mixed economy so... not socialists.

Ironically most still think a socialist is just a socialist. I'm going to freely admit I don't really understand the difference. Mind esplaining yoosef?

oh yes. learning the ins and outs of socialism will put you head and shoulders above your peers, in the special olympics or a conversation with shawarma.

Socialism-leaning countries DO privatize, and YOUR definition doesn't fit reality.

Clearly, you didn't read the study of World Bank member nations I posted, and WHY they are selecting enterprise reform and privatization as necessities in ensuring the survival of modern social democracies.

American, being a modern social democracy, is of course no different than our socialist European allies.

Did you NOT follow the end of the fucking Cold War and the institution of progressive capitalism throughout Europe in the post-Soviet era?

Hungary, Poland, and even Serbia are doing a LOT better in 2016. If you want to know why, try actually reading the study.
