Um, maybe right is not the correct word here.
No, you're right. Pretty much any open hand art can be called ken po.

    Including MMA.

Muay Thai is modern Thai Kenpo derived from Muay Boran, an ancient Siamese Kenpo.

Considering the whole "ken"="fist", non-open-hand methods should be included, too. Which means some p*rn is also kenpo.

          Agreed, with vigor.

              First impressions:

Definitely in the BB canon. Many of the original actors reprising their roles, and Vince Gilligan's name is all over it (duh).

The synopsis is, this what Jesse Pinkman does after the final scene in the original series.

Lacks the comedy of the original series or BCS. There are some humorous moments, though. This one is darker, as it deals a lot with Jesse's imprisonment and torture by the neo Nazis. The feature is probably 70% flashback, but most of the time the flashbacks are new material (i.e. exposition).

The punchline is that Jesse is making his own transformation into a Heisenberg-type alpha.

              Mild spoiler:
              Spoiler:
At the end, he's off the grid; but, I feel they left a sequel wide-open for exploration.

Worth the watch, if you've enjoyed the BB universe, so far.

I'm trying to get through the back half of DS9. It's been a long time since I got this deep in the show. It is fucking horrible.

WTF happened to Worf? He's been completely emasculated, as a character, and Dorn is barely even phoning in his performance. The writing sucks giant buffalo testicles, etc., etc. It's not even comically bad, like TOS.

He had a kid. Science has shown most men start to decline once they domesticate. Has to be even worse for Klingons.

Riker had it right. He could have had kids with Troi. Instead he kept up with his Anbo-jyutsu so he could eventually kick his father's ass, and make Captain.

Nah, it's because the concept was screwed up. DS9 was written to try to endear the franchise to more females (how's that for misogyny?) So, the action/violence/sci-fi aspects were turned down a lot. Plus, it overlapped with TNG, so talent was scarce. Even still, the writing was plain terrible. There's no good excuses for how bad it is, that I'm aware of. It just took me 20 years to realize that it sucks ass, and doesn't stand on its own.

                      On Star Trek. It sucks.

None of them were ever any good. It pains me to say it because a lot of my fondest memories are of watching Star Trek with my grandpa.

I don't know why he liked it so much but without him around I can't finish a single episode if I'm too sober.

I didn't realize it sucked until he wasn't around to watch it with me. Baseball was the same way. I realized I no longer cared after he was gone.

MASH is still good though. I can still watch those but the sad ones are a real bummer.

Damnit, now I want to watch the original movie, again. I have it around here, somewhere. Maybe Santa will bring me the DVDs or Blurays of the series, because they've been curiously absent from streaming for the last several years (disclaimer: I don't have Hulu, anymore, and I rarely use Prime).

That last episode is rough to watch. A masterpiece on its own, but I don't think it really belongs with the rest of the show. And, it was the last episode, so there's a certain emotional letdown there, without respect to the subject material in play. For comparison, Friends, House, BSG, hell even TNG and Voyager all had similar emotional tugs. Scrubs, on the other hand (funniest show ever, until Zach Braff left) just petered out. Even the last season with him as the star/regular you could see that it was falling apart.

IIRC, SG9 really picks up later in the series, when the Dominion War starts.

Up til then it's hi hum life on the station boring.

When the DW starts, DS9 becomes the front line battle station and the Federations last hope. Like New Jersey during the War of Independence.

Lol, "too sober". You're a funny guy.

Star Trek has its hits and misses. That's inevitable in any series with hundreds and hundreds of episodes.

The Battle of Wolf 359 is a legend on its own. Right up there with Winterfell or anything in either BSG.

Except maybe The Gun on Ice Planet Zero, which may be the finest moment in television history.

There were three discrete broadcast series, plus Caprica, plus the web stuff they did for both Caprica and BSG.

I think 33 is my all-time favorite episode.
