I'm waiting to see if they do one of my distant family relations on there in the next couple of seasons. I won't name drop because he's a piece of shit and doesn't deserve the credit.

Not really something that can be binge-watched but super excited to watch this when it comes out this week:
In an era where special effects trumps character deveopment and streaming platforms highlight the homogeneity of movies, this promises to be something unique. A slow-burn character study - but not of a hero or desirable character but of a marginalised, bullied and mistreated outcast (and the results).
Even more relevant in today's social media saturated existence than in the 1970's where this is set (albeit in fictional Gotham), Joker promises to be more a modern apologue than comic-book fan service. To paraphrase a review (which I can't find again so can't reference) "in a time of laughably unrealistic comic book movies, the most real one is about a clown".
This also popped into my youtube feed the other day, which I think feeds into the background for what (I hope) will make this movie shine:

Just finished Kengan Asura, Fightworld and young justice outsiders
Blasting through the last few marvel netflix seasons. Iron Fist was a joke, Luke cage was a character assassination, jessica jones still feels its the best so far, but Im saving punisher season 2 for next and then finish where it started with Daredevil.
I'll probably then move onto Titans
