Hi. You are reading an archive of the legendary Bullshido forums, from 2002-2020. Please visit our NEW and (arguably) improved forums at https://forums.bullshido.net.
(Or don't, this is just an announcement and nobody's holding a gun to your head.)
One more episode of The Confession Tapes to go then it's on to Umbrella Academy. Also going through Sirius The Jaeger but it doesn't seem to be grabbing my attention like similar stories have.
The last two episodes have just felt like too much. The first season felt so tight. This one is just all over the place.
Just watch The Orville. That's what I do.
It's better than Star Trek anyway. It's fun, it has all the same actors and it's completely aware of how bad Star Trek actually is.
I gotta be honest with you, man. I can't watch the Trek unless I'm stoned and even then I'm just watching it ironically. I lost my TV watching buddy to a better job and now I'm stuck watching this shit alone. I have to get pretty fucking stoned before I watch Star Trek. It's god damned terrible. The acting is wooden, the plot is so fucking see through it's impossible to not dissect for humor value. At least on the The Orville they they know the genre is garbage by now.
No offense intended but if I want to watch a Space Soap Opera I'd rather the actors be capable of comedic timing and the writers be aware enough to monopolize on how bad everything is.
I'm not knocking the fans or anything, the movies are fucking great. Wrath of Khan is beautiful, just so long as we're talking about William Shatner starring opposite of Leonard Nimoy.
Edit: by the way, my grand dad, the human being I respect and admire more than any other on Earth, was a giant Star Trek fan. I don't know why. His neck was so red it looked like alligator hide but he loved that show. No knock against the fans. He was glued to the recliner come Sunday night, every night to watch TNG. It was great fun when I was a kid and I sat right next to him on the couch and watched it while we enjoyed dinner. Best god damned days of my life, but I think the TV world has better stuff to offer these days.

Babylon 5 was fucking awesome though.
Season 1 of Discovery was great. The Expanse is still the best show with space ships tho
