What shows have you binge-watched?

I do. When there is absolutely nothing of value going on on the screen. Half of that show is utter filler and only suitable for people who've really got little better to do with their time.

If they'd make a Garth Ennis-type Punisher run, it would be worthwhile. This is just tedious, drawn-out, pointless and a waste of everybody's time.

It's getting way worse, honestly. Particularly on Netflix. Mainly because of some sort of mantra that shows now need to be LONG and ENGAGING and EMOWSHUNAL and shit. Unfortunately, television writers are generally of sub-Dostoyevskian talent and thus they just pad episode lengths with pathos and irrelevant drama that nobody in their right mind would give a shit about.

If Punisher's episodes were like 30% shorter, it would be a far better show. Could cut out a whole bunch of boring shit that way and focus on what actually matters: kicking ass. Because Castle (and all superheroes, come to think of it) are cardboard cutout characters and any attempt to make their story arcs DEEP and EMOWSHUNAL comes across as vaguely sad and embarrassing.

Whatever you do, don't binge watch "This is Us". One episode a month is almost too much for your empathic core, more than that, you might as well eject it into space, or you'll be a slobbering mess for a whole season.

Remember, DVR lets you WAIT, as well as binge. I don't think people realize the advantage of saving, versus consuming mass quantities. But hey, it's your mind, not mine.

I disagree on Paul Reubens. I think his character went from overacted to just right to "back to Pee Wee."

Was more referring to 60ies and 70ies era Spiderman and whatnot, which is indeed quite dire when read today.

Why are you bitching about a show based off of comic books being not to your liking if you think that comics themselves are shit? What were you expecting? A show that wouldn't be like Punisher MAX? What the fuck did you want? If you want a normal vigilante flick just go back and watch the Death Wish movies or something. Fucking hell.
