And the New Zealand murder rate declines before and after Australia passed those laws mirror that of Australia,

and New Zealand does not have restrictive gun laws.

Same declining rate of murder before the gun laws, after the gun laws, in two places very close to each other, one that passed gun laws, and one that did not.

The gun laws did not matter.
For full disclosure, in 2012, New Zealand did put in some rigorous gun laws.

But they have made no material impact on the New Zealand homicide trend.

It is trending just the same as it was before those new restrictions were put in place, generally downward, before and after those gun laws, currently trending around 10 per million.

And, New Zealand still has a million registered guns on an Island for 4 million people.

New Zealand murder rates for the two years before the 2012 gun restrictions were put in place up until now:
    2010 10 per million
    2011 8 per million
2012 10 per million (restrictive gun laws were put in place)
    2013 11 per million
    2014 10 per million
    2015 10 per million
    2016 11 per million

According to an AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety study, “18.2% of fatal crashes involved a driver who was unlicensed or invalidly licensed; these crashes resulted in the deaths of 21,049 people."

Total gun homicides in the US are around 11,000 a year according the CDC data.

"FastStats: Mortality – Firearm homicides". Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. July 27, 2015"

This means that there are approximately twice as many killings by unlicensed drivers every year compared to gun homicides in the US.

Unlicensed drivers that fail to comply with existing laws represent twice the number of deaths of firearm murderers that fail to comply with existing gun laws.

Could have been prevented with a single barricade, at a cost of maybe $1000?

Just to be sure, you are advocating everyone can have whatever guns they want with no restrictions?

Maybe should bust this into its own thread, but Cali is 2 weeks away from background checks on ammo purchases?!?!?! I totally missed that.

Their ammo prices are going to reach the stratosphere. Does it include a waiting period too??
