The few the proud the unable to do a pull-up

The marines are considering reducing the requirement of 3 whole pull-ups for women since over half of their female recruits can't fucking do 3 god damn pull-ups. For fucks sake it's only 3.

You are now a misogynist. That's what I hear when I say Men should make more money than women under the current set up in Tennis. Now, I agreed they needed to get paid equal relative to men in their current set up. Right now, they actually make more.

Fortunately, by the time they become the colonial marines, pull-ups, chin-ups and so on will be back. We'll get to watch Vasquez all over again...

Surely my beloved Marine Corps will not lower the standard. If a woman can't work her way up to the bare minimum three pullups through her own hard work, wash her out or keep her out of front line combat duty.

            Equal rights baby.

Congratulations, this is lower than the requirement to go for selection for a pay clerk or storeman in the British army when I served.

According to the article it's the same amount. You get a score based on how many above that number you can do, and this appears to gauge (in part) for which jobs you are (un)qualified.

I sometimes wonder if this sort of thing isn't a sneaky attempt, by some nebulous force at work at the Pentagon, to "prove" that women make inferior soldiers to men by the expedient of permitting women inferior to men to be soldiers. If it is, I particularly like the fact that feminists will have a hard time getting taken seriously if they bitch about it.

upper body strength is significantly lower in women. This is not shocking news, maybe they don't belong in the marines. I think they definitely have their place in armed forces, i just don't think they should be integrated into infantry forces, there are enough jobs that require intelligentsia and skills that don't relay heavily on upper body strength. If they do insist on trying out for infantry than by all means give them the exact test.

The women who recently passed infantry training did meet the same requirements.

It's admirable to see so many ladies wanting to join the Marines, but this is just like when Gloria Alred sued to have the NY firefighter physical requirements lowered for women. It puts people at risk.

The pullups requirements are there for a good reason.

The USMC is fine with vaginas. Pussies will get Marines killed.

The lady here is a USMC Combat Engineer. Just a guess, but I'm sure she can beat 3.

Might as well let them in with no pullups. The difference in physical abilities is so glaring already it doesn't even matter. Fortunately I didn't have to deal with women in the infantry when I was in. But it was always hilarious to watch an entire Company doing PT when there were women. On a Company run you'll always have a support vehicle following in case anyone falls out. Usually, that would be a Humvee. If it was a unit that included women the support vehicle would be a 5 ton truck and it would be slam full of women half way through the run.

And trust me, you've never seen anything more embarrassing than a Marine in maternity cammies. Yes, maternity cammies are a thing.
