    I'll spell it out, knucklehead.
Eating a toxic fish that needs such delicate handling it requires a license to prepare, is the epitome of pretentious.
It's part of the allure of it all; alternately grossing out(uni), scaring(fugu) or chiding the other diners on their lack of sushi savvy.
While provincials like yourself marvel at maki you leave more fish for those of us that enjoy it, so by all means keep eating those California "crab" rolls.

Spicy tuna is the only maki I eat... And the person you directed that comment towards wasn't the one talking about eating fugu.

Your grasp of nuance rivals your appreciation of sushi.

I really like the chicken and mayonnaise ones, they're awesome, I just wish they didn't have to wrap it in that seaweed stuff, it takes forever to peel that stuff off.

Now that was just terrible. I don't even know where to start deconstructing this, I mean, shit, it's already in ruins.

That is a favorite of mine, but I would have to go with generic tuna rolls as my all time favorite.

The best sushi I ever had was in a little fishing village in Northern Hokkaido, everything tasted amazing, everything. Nothing I have had since has come close.

I told this story to the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia and him and his wife took me to the best Sushi restaurant in Moscow. After, they asked me if it compared, I have this unfortunate habit of being honest and told them it was good but nothing could compare. It didn't go down to well. Nothing was said but i could tell.

                    True story.

The best sushi I ever had was when Albus Dumbledore took me to this secret place in my closet called Narnia. Afterwards, Albus and Captain Kirk put on a puppet show. Best day EVER!!!

                        Grody.

I hear tell deep fried sushi is the business though.

That is a beautiful man. An uncompromising commitment to quality is never a bad thing in a sushi chef.

Loved the "Treat everybody the same", comment.

He's right about the tuna. The best meal I've ever eaten was at a little hole in the wall place in Osaka that specialized in tuna. They had tuna from all over the world and it was all magnificent.

Deep fried sushi is an abomination. But I'm a sushi snob-I loathe Americanized sushi.

Yes, the "Everybody hates him, he's too picky!!" comment at the fish market was awesome too.
