    Fitocracy: combining RPGs with workouts

Did any of you ever play an rpg and wish it was that easy in IRL to level up? Ever wanted to go outside, kill a slime, punch a pidgey, and gain experience points? well now you can with Fitocracy!

Its basically a community website that allows you to log your workouts (including your classes. i was able to log my bjj and judo classes), for exp points! You may even complete quests for experience and receive achievements.

While it doesnt really add anything to my whole workout experience, it is kinda fun and does provide a sort of gamer's motivation:

You can sign up by clicking on the "here" in paragraph one from this page: http://techcrunch.com/2011/06/28/fit...nvites-within/

This looks like an interesting thing for gamers and such. I am not much of that.
But I would have liked it a lot more, if it would've referred to this:
    when you wrote RPG.

Since I was just playing Shadow Hearts: Covenant for the nostalgia last ngiht instead of working out, I think this is something I should do.

yeah i realized RPG could stand for "rocket propelled grenades" but thought it would just get more curious people to check it out.

if you have a cheat code, lemme know! i need help completing the quests...

That was a joke; just lie about working out.

yeah i briefly considered logging 1,000,000 pushups just to see how much exp it would net me...

well if it can help some people.. then it is a good thing. also it can be useful to log training somewhere.. I might check it out. If it is a good and easy way to log training then why not.

I have improved unarmed strike and improved grapple as my human bonus feats.

Wait you can't take part in this without tying it with your twitter or facebook?

Also I don't like it that it might post stuff on my wall.

you can sign into it without connecting it to your twitter or Facebook. I have it set so that it just emails me when someone posts/fist bumps me (in your settings).

I just got an invite and decided to try it out.

I like the design (it's simple and fairly easy to use) but I'm so far having a hard time loggin my activities. Most of what I do is calisthenics and things of that nature. The only thing they have that I do is burpees.

Other than that I like it, could be fun. I log my workouts in a spreadsheet anyway to track progress, and this seems like it would let me "re-log" past workouts easily.

The design on http://heiaheia.com is better in my opinion, but it's more socially focused when Fitocracy is more gamelike. Also Fitocracy seems to be mostly (at least at the moment) focused on weightlifting. Especially the "quests".

                              Bullshido group on fitocracy?
